Easily my favorite part in the whole video.
-
That was sick. Music, fits, editing, tricks on point
-
Damn that delivered the goods alright. Absolutely incredible
-
His no comply into slides were fucking wild. I dont know how you do that.
-
Good god almighty!
-
Being able to skate New Orleans like this is completely bonkers, guy is a an absolute legend

That fakie one blew my mind.
Edit. Had to make a gif

Amazing skating. I wish I could watch it without puking. Trying to watch this on anything larger than a phone is a fucking joke. Josh Stewart acts like he's doing his own unrelated trick at the same time. Does he always have to take 5 clunky steps in the middle of every shot? The line with the frontside wallride, backside wallride scratch, did he just fucking run the whole time? Jesus fucking Christ. My criticisms actually come from a place of love. If you removed the shakey-cam factor from this part it would be goddamned perfect.
-
That shit got heated! So fucking sick
-

Truth. New Orleans is so hard to skate i don't even bring a board with me anymore when i go.
-
well done JT
-
Definitely my favorite part of his. I used to not dig his shit, really do now. Ollie over fence to noseslide and the ledge lines at that dilapidated marble spot we’re super sick.
-
a very fine conclusion to static series, both songs are abd but might have worked better here
-
Trahan carries Chocolate on his shoulders. Such a great part.
-
Coming from a guy that loves the VX...this is lacking. The upload is so bad,the quality is simply not there and if I uploaded this I would be bummed out.
-
Amazing part. Need to buy a Chocolate Trahan board ASAP (and you should too)
Still watch his 5BNY part by Tomboman all the time:
https://youtu.be/jEepfs0Jx1U?si=QQTMntJBBcIzeuN9
Can't wait for Josh to retire the VX and put his spin on HD :D It's time. With all the face zooming and slowmo in HD land right now there is definitely room for something different at 720p+. Just look at the new Magenta video.
-
dude reminds me why skating is fun. stylish and great pop. def on my list of favorite (goofy) skaters to watch, with Cyrus, Hjalte and Touz. have to agree about some of the shaky filming though. overall still strong rewatch value.
-
Amazing. But more amazing was that youtube went straight to Static 2 and that video was basically an Adio video with a couple guest tricks, haha. What a time 2004 was
-
Controversial opinion: I hate the way this dude films fisheye. Stop moving the fucking camera so much.
-
Who would’ve thought that someone skating to a Hey Jude cover would kick this much ass
-
Controversial opinion: I hate the way this dude films fisheye. Stop moving the fucking camera so much.
Not so controversial. Also, he swiped the intro song from Quasi Mother. That video didn't premiere so long ago that it’s fair game and it certainly isn't obscure enough that Josh Stewart wouldn’t have seen it either.
But whatever. Jordan Trahan is exceptional in this part. He’s got that loose style and his own bag of tricks and unique spots. The dude even can make pop shuvits look cool and barely anyone else besides Drake Jones, Donny Barley, and maybe Mike Carroll could pull that off. The Hey Jude instrumental was a nice touch.
-
Great part.
I disagree with the vx criticism, in fact I thought this was a really nice surprise filmingwise. There's a lot of rolling longlens in this part and the fish stuff is really dynamic, you can tell josh was working to try and showcase the spots, which I think he succeeded at quite well. Sure, it's got some bumps to it, but that's what happens when you skate rough spots and take some chances artistically instead of playing it safe all the time.
-
So good. One of the best varial flips I've ever seen at the beginning.
I don't have a problem with VX footage but yeah, the filming was a bit too jerky for my tastes. Like the tre flip clip for example, way jerkier and spasmodic than it had to be. I could barely see the trick.
-
Jordan Trahan rules. Great style, great trick selection and spot selection. Love the Static series and so far from the parts put online this one follows through nicely. I can agree with some of that jitter cam talk though. I value trying something different and trying to show more of the spot but sometimes you have to let the trick do the talking.
If chocolate could get their shit together how sick of a video would that be? Erik Herrera, Carl Aikens, Jordan Trahan, James Capps with some old head footage sprinkled in there.

Ewf my bad! It is I who needs to get my shit together. I watched it when it came out but it has been erased from my hamster like memory. Will definitely be giving it a rewatch.

I love the Static series but there was 1 section where the camera was whipping around too much for a single trick, no need to move the camera to show the ledge of stairs afterwards.

I think this part was great but there's some very valid criticism here. The fisheye angle on the circle bump to bump treflip was pretty disasterous. Just shaky as all hell. You can skate rough spots and still film well. Despite that I really enjoyed this but I think this could have really been brilliant.

Funny how different eyes see different things. I see a well-executed shot, with 3 distinct positions: overhead composition of the spot with jt rolling up, drop to get the trick from below, then a quick move to the forward edge to catch the rollaway while emphasizing the steep/short bank. @happenstance does this kind of shot really well. I agree that it is jarring, but I assume it looks pretty much as intended. Only Josh knows.
-
raw talent, jordan never dissapoints
-
Was watching yesterday with my 9-year old who seemed to have lost interest in skating over the last few months. Halfway into the video he shouted 'I wanna go skate now'. I had the same thought. Trans-generational stoke provided by Jordan & Josh ❤️
-
If you can make varial flips and noseslides to fakie that good on those spots you've officially made it on a skateboard. Incredible part.
-
Wow that was refreshing! Unbelievable. I need to buy his board. Great job to everyone involved, love to see this skating.
-
Are people on about Cloverfield or the Jordan Trahan part here?
-
Shaky vx fisheye > excessive face/feet zooming. Great part, great spots, great style.
-
y'all whining as usual
-
Not mad about the filming and extra hyped on the part.

Why use the same song? There are tons of other options on that record. I wanted to be able to say The Langley Schools Music Project is Skate Rock now but it's just a bite.
Who skated to that Hey Jude cover?

loved every second

The intro/outro with mark Twain and the mighty Mississippi with the STL and New Orleans footage was really fucking cool
-

Fs nose over the fence was so good🤌 and all those bs nocomplys to tailslides. Never seen the fakie one before?
-

I thought it was an odd editing choice that the intro was NOLA b-roll and even has "New Orleans" titling, then the first line is at Brooklyn Borough Hall (followed by a bunch of NOLA clips).
-
That shit got hairs I didn't know I had standing on end.
Before the part actually started too.
Perfect fuckin part. Excellent opening. Good editing.
Static is definitely my top shit.
I saw someone beginning of covid. I was like WTF! Is Josh Stuart doing in Marbehead? I wonder if he's friends with mark because WA was at the beach near his house.
I started walking over squinting to see.
I looked at the persons feet and was like CROCS!!!
No fuckin way that's him. Where's my mask god damnit.
I was skating the sea wall trying to feel so vertigo so I went back to it.
Few days later the cops banned me from doing it. I fought it and kept it going but realized this spot sucks.
Dude tho... The 66.6 mm wheels would be so sick on the sea wall.
I like to hang up various stall off the wall at the end.
Super fun. I learned that from Jeff Stevens in Happy Medium.
I worship that weirdo too.
I forgotten to mention the two 270 non compliance to tails in this video.
I think he did it both ways.
This is what I need more ov.
I wanna see kids do the bs non compliance on to rails. Just as much as I wanna see the Rick flip fr feebs
-
It was pretty much the same week of the bloards getting sanitized too.
I could see not Josh was scared maybe stressed over some of the team being LAME on the internet.
I would love to talk to that fool tho. He probably holds some of the best truths in this shit I love.
I need to know it all
-
Came here to make sure I’m not crazy about the poor fisheye filming. You’d think someone with that much skin in the game could hold a follow fish clip better but wow. Great skating though.

Holy shit, maybe I missed this one. Fuck me. Is that the only natural street table treflip ever filmed? Goddamn. That's easily one of the greatest tres of all time. I always hated Brophy's in the TF. And kickflip into the WSP fountain? Holy Christ. What was Tombo's setup for this in 2016? HVX and Xtreme? Nice look with no vignette.
-
incredible skating
why does the video quality look so objectivle fucking awful? like vx negative a million edition
that 4:3 hd would have been sublime
-
Cab 270 back tail a NBD? Love all those weird 50-50 spots.
-
This guy is good. I really like how put a shine on New Orleans. That's a place I want to visit. Hopefully next time I take the trip over the atlantic ocean.

Im pretty sure it was a DSLR setup. I don't think he was on HVX/HPX/HMC

Jordan Trahan is no joke. Excellent trick selection and more. The whole nine yards. The best part is how fun his last name is to pronounce (correctly). Imagine how much time he has spent in his life saying his name over the phone and then needed to spell it out using the nato alphabet.
His no comply to grinds and slides is NUTS.
-
Too many standout tricks to list. He really can make anything look good.
Just wish he skated to Chief Keef again.
-
doesn't blow my mind or anything but it was beautifully executed and smooth.

Thank you, no wonder it's so sharp in the corners.

Sucks that the song is ABD. This part absolutely kills it. I skated that ledge spot back in the day.
