Kinda wild that no ig posts or anything have been made, makes me think that not only did they let the domain expire but they also might not even know that it's down. Could be just because everyone is on christmas break but there's no way I'm the first to notice and someone has to have tried to get into contact with them by now.

maybe maybe not. from my understanding it is pretty easy to let a domain registration lapse if you weren’t prepared for reregistration. and with it being the holidays, maybe they don’t have their IT or whoever does that for them available to renew the registration. there is a grace period for renewal, so i wouldn’t write them off just yet. but i also wouldn’t be surprised if it was done for good.

The longer this stays down, the fishier things seem. Is it a planned marketing ploy, has someone sabotaged Jenkem, or is this a case of "shit, our credit card expired and we can't figure out how to pay the domain host"?
If your business model is ad and online shop sales, not having either of those accessible seems like the scenario to avoid.
Sedo, the company currently in control of and who is selling the domain, is apart of Ionos (where Jenkemmag was originally registered 15 years ago).

A local shop in my city wasn't paying taxes and entered forced administration, apparently blindsided by it, and this is exactly what happened to their website. Wonder if it's something bigger than 'shit, we forgot to renew our domain'.

I checked in on that sedo site and the domain currently has three bids. Maybe Ian paid the most or was able to get it back during the grace period.
Jenkemmagazine.com is still broken, but I imagine that one isn't as important since it doesn't have all the old links. It was just a catch all forwarding site.

Oh if you're not careful domain name renewal fees can hit 100s's, 1000's, even tens of thousands, particularly if it is a popular site. Even buying alternatives like .co, .io, .xyz etc can be expensive if it's just one word brand names. But hopefully they can use the ad revenue to pay for it if it's a business expense thing?
