If your business model is ad and online shop sales, not having the either of those accessible seems like the scenario to avoid.

Sedo, the company currently in control of and who is selling the domain, is apart of Ionos (where Jenkemmag was originally registered 15 years ago).

As @alien porkchop mentioned, there is a grace period for renewals. After 30 days Ionos makes domains available to the general public, which is probably when the bids for the domain will be honored.

I highly doubt Ian is doing some marketing scheme. My guess he day drank and cool guyed too hard during the recent Adidas tour and he simply wasn't paying attention.

Alternatively, I wouldn't be surprised if he burned an IT guy who thought "not my job" and didn't feel like saving him.

What I find weird is that it seems like there’s also been radio silence on the instagram account. Even though it’s the holidays there’s no way someone at jenkem hasn’t noticed by now, but there’s been no updates whatsoever.

4 days and still radio silence from Jenkem's channels. What's going on?

A local shop in my city wasn't paying taxes and entered forced administration, apparently blindsided by it, and this is exactly what happened to their website. Wonder if it's something bigger than 'shit, we forgot to renew our domain'.

I checked in on that sedo site and the domain currently has three bids. Maybe Ian paid the most or was able to get it back during the grace period.

Jenkemmagazine.com is still broken, but I imagine that one isn't as important since it doesn't have all the old links. It was just a catch all forwarding site.

Oh if you're not careful domain name renewal fees can hit 100s's, 1000's, even tens of thousands, particularly if it is a popular site. Even buying alternatives like .co, .io, .xyz etc can be expensive if it's just one word brand names. But hopefully they can use the ad revenue to pay for it if it's a business expense thing?
