Always called it a Euro.
Every kid I have ever seen in an Etnies shirt calls them “step ups”.

Is a ramp that is abruptly stopped by stairs or a small gap a Euro Gap or a Step Up?

In the UK it's called a Wembley Gap (after premiering at that 1997 Wembley Arena contest where Gonz and Duffy collided mid-air).

In the rest of Europe, it's called a London Gap.

Anywhere else in the world, including the US, it's a Euro Gap.

I guess because "step-up" already existed in bmx/moto jumps, this is a step up

Wembley's/Euro's don't have a landing slope.

That would be a Euro gap.

A step up is a usually seen in bmx and is basically a spine ramp where one kicker/quarter pipe is higher than the other like this.
