Fucking love it.
Charge a hill, maybe die, maybe get stoked.
Ask Gerwer, he nose.
The longboarders in this are the reason people were saying longboard hill bombers are the exception to longboard kooks in the longboard hate thread recently.

This episode definitely gets the job done with making you want to go out and skate. It's pretty cool they talked to one of those downhill longboarders for the show. Going 89 mph down a hill is absolutely fucked, and trying to go 100 is batshit insane.

Bombing a hill, feeling yourself start to get speed wobbles and powering through is one of the greatest feelings. This was my favorite episode in a while.
I don't really understand what's going on and I haven't read this thread yet, but I can tell I'm angry.

I hit up a renegade hill bomb race in Pacifica a couple years back put on by the Sunset Sliders / Bonzing (Oakland based). The Sector 9 downhill team was there as well and all those dudes were fucking smashing. That Levi Hawken dude hit a reflector or crack at the very bottom and nearly killed himself. His helmet had a huge dent in it.

They just straight lined the highway easily hitting 60+mph like it was another walk in the park. Here I am carving and powersliding to make sure I make it down alive.

23 years on a skateboard and one of the top 3 memories I have was this moment pictured below. Driving through Norway with no cell service with my girlfriend and we stumble upon this:

i bombed the hill on catalina island from the wrigley mansion w/ a childhood friend [reunited in our mid 20s].
that, all the AVEs of the judah and coming down the volcano from makawao to paia on maui are my favorite hills.
i've had some good adventures on less famous hills here in mass. freinds eating shit, beer spilling, broken wrists and blood coming outta eyeballs. and i loved every minute of it!
only learned bs powerslides last yr, feel like i was half a man for the longest.

Levi is an old friend of mine so I'm really stoked they got him in this episode. He goes so hard on hills and enjoys the fuck out of it.

I saw it with two friends who just got back from a motorcycle ride and one pointed out 89 is kinda gnarly on a bike...

I thought maybe it had to do with it being a vans show and they are heavily associated with Converse...but so is Gerwer I guess...my theory sucks

Excluding the GX dudes out of a convo about downhill skateboarding is embarrassing haha.
Dudes are killing that zone harder than any other crew.

I was mostly joking, but I think there was a bit of friction when sean green went and did the hill that Frank did in Destination Unknown.  Sorry I dont know the name of it not from sf, but yea I heard some story about the Anti Hero guys being pretty pissed off and frank throwing a fit about the next gen having no respect.

Also most of those kids skate for indy and OJ and no board brands, when every other kid in the bay is dlx flow.

But again mostly joking, sean green skate for spitfire and they promote him.

They are in the whole fucking thing, they just don’t bring them up. Part of it is because of something a lot don’t want to admit: those full-on downhillers skate gnarlier hills. No GX dude has ever come close to 80 bombing a hill in the city. Love the GX crew, but facts are facts

Totally apples and oranges! I agree the 60-80mph downhillers are super gnarly, but the stuff some of the guys do on the SF hills is just as insane. Speed isn't the sole qualifier of gnar..

Jeff Grosso is the worst. I dont get the love with him. He was an average vert dude in the 80s that turned drug addict. He is the biggest asshole ever. Thinks he is God's gift to skating. Fuck him and his stupid show.

I like Grosso and the show, but how many episodes do they need to do until he cuts the whole “What do I need to say?/We don’t know what we’re doing/Fuck it, welcome to the letters” act.

the way i see the GX crew is that they do tricks and then bomb hills, which is kinda the next step from what the "old dudes" are doing. they deserve a mention when it comes to downhill skateboarding.

Longboard hill bombers are cool but not the other types of longboarders ?  -thats just not a line you need to draw in the sand imo.  -Seems overcomplicated for me at that point, sorting out longboarders.  (I recently tried longboarding a mini ramp and it was a laugh, I wanna set one up with small hard wheels now)

Several GX clips, but not one mention? Come on, they are the pure emodiment of bombing hills. If there really is beef with AH/DLX, that’s some bullshit. These dudes go harder than anyone, yet Julian and his crew are envious because of some spot/hill bomb?

Fucking give Pspliff and Sean some boards already man.

Ha! Picture didn't load but I know exactly what you're talking about.

Could be in the lookalikes thread. Also could be confused for the Midnight Oil guy.
