Unrelated.... but I just realized that Keifer Sutherland is Donald Sutherland's son. I'm 36, btw.

I壇 wonder that their faces didn稚 give it away, but this is in the spirit of the topic.  Finding out Beanie Feldstein and Jonah Hill were sibs blew me away

My girl says I'm a bimbo, so it goes with the territory.

The Hill siblings I had no idea about!

I was of skating between 2000 and 2020 and I just realise there was a whole decade or so where skaters wore tight pants. Happy this is not the case anymore and I can continue where I left of 20 years ago, i.e. wearing Dickies.

I was skating home from school in '00-'01, thinking I was cool as fuck in my fresh brown dickies from WalMart, when this car load of jocks drove by, yelled "nice tight pants, f****t," and threw Gatorade at me. I was ahead of the curve ha ha ha (what's really weird, is this past September I was visiting my home town, skating past almost the same exact spot, and a car load of kids drove by some plaid/mohawk punk kid with a skateboard and pulled something very similar. asshole time warp status)

Make no mistake, wearing Dickies in 93 you would have felt like Niyah with his Jeggings. (Not sure about the spelling of either Niyah nor Jeggings lol)

I thought I'd posted this but back in about 96 I was at Slam City Skates buying a Volcom backpack and the dude was telling me how the old logo had the Volcom diamond but also had two lines below it cos' "they smoke heaps".

I'm unsure if he was kooking me cos' I was a bit of a grom at the time or if this was legit true.

Second hardest logo to accurately draw on my notebook in 8th grade.  Number one was the Emerica logo

Didn't realise that Jerry Hsu was skating switch for the majority of his Emerica B-side part, to be fair it was the first time watching him for me.

For a long time I thought Neen Williams was a host on the Nine Club, wasn't until I eventually watched the show that I realised otherwise.

Did skaters wear JNCOs? Those were for the kids that picked up baggy pants after us where I知 from.

They definitely had a team and ads. Almost positive Navs was on, some other vert dudes, and for some reason I知 thinking Heddings was on too.

Weird. I don稚 remember that at all. But I rarely saw mags once I was done with school (94) so I値l take your word for it. But who kept wearing super baggy pants in 94? Whole thing is weird. I never once thought of them as a skate brand.

Yes they did and they were fucking sick. Looked so much better than just buying some oversized Levi痴 or something. New Deal jeans were good too. They were actually making something nobody else was. Now it seems like skate companies just get their logos put on other company痴 clothes. Is anybody really making their own shit? That痴 actually unique to their brand?

I've always pronounced it Emm-erica as it's just easier and more pleasant to say. Then again I'm from the UK where everyone says Nike instead of Nikey. Emm-erica sounds more British

I remember I could fit a textbook in my pocket back in the day. That was pretty ridiculous, but man, I loved those pants.

I'm still amazed that we went from huge ass pants in the 90s to super tight girl pants in the mid-2000s. I also enjoy the excuses we made to rationalize each style choice: "the big pants protect my ankles/shins" vs "I can see my board better."

I remember Jncos being just baggier than normal pants at first.  They sold them at mall stores like Miller's Outpost.  They started getting super big and stupid after skaters had already moved on from the huge goofy boy pants.

All those Burnside guys skated for them around 96/97 if i remember correctly, but they didn't wear the huge raver ones.  They had posters in Champs
