What does your whip weigh?
« on: June 12, 2022, 05:29:03 PM »
And what kind of weight do you prefer for your boards? Any of you kooks dumb enough to weigh your boards like me? Who's got the lightest board here? Are cored wheels lighter? Are ceramic bearings lighter?

I went with grams because of accuracy of measurement, and fuck the imperial system honestly. I personally prefer a light board all day, just makes skating so much easier in general.

The weight difference is pretty negligible.
The 2 I ride(10 1/4” & 9”) both are from the same wood shop/company:

Big one has 215s(still pretty fresh), 1/8 homemade solid risers, 54 classic Spits, QBS isotopes, 1” bolts.
9er has forged hollow 159s, 53 classic Spits, QBS isotopes, 1” bolts and the trucks are ground almost to the axle on the front and are into the axle(fs/bs) on the rear.
Less than 1/2 a pound difference.

I’m currently running four set ups and I weighed them on the shipping scale at work so it’s not that exact, but both of my street boards came out at 5.2lb (2358g) and my two slappy/cruisers came out to 5.8lb (2630g).

Eventually I want to use a better gram scale and get more exact measurements. As I’ve gotten older and I have money I’ve been buying better/lighter shit, but aside from trucks and wheel size I don’t think any of it makes a huge difference. I also run single rails usually so I’m not chasing the lightest possible set up.

I like the White Eagle a ton and am going to put the AF1 55's on it.  I like them so much better than the Indys or Thunders.  When they come out with a hollow AF1 it will be fuckin game over.

I gonna get another beer and go back to watching Batman and not post wheels.

I have no idea how much it weighs but I used to have a polar 8.25 on Indy 144’s that weighed sooo much more than my 9” Girl loveseat on titanium 159s, it boggled my mind.

if you dont have a scale / at work bored etc., you could just go onto tactics and find what the "stock" weight of your setup is. I am curious to know how much material i have grinded off my trucks, wheels, and deck, but the most accurate measurement i am going to get is off a bathroom scale :(
