mid 90s ccs catalog scans
« on: March 30, 2021, 03:07:04 PM »
does anybody here have old ccs catalogs and could scan them and put them up online? are there any already uploaded? i've only found this website: http://skateboardnostalgia.blogspot.com/2015/10/ccs-winter-19951996-catalog.html

it has like 3 or 4 catalogs but i would love to see more, i'm mostly interested in 93-97 but anything will do, i searched on slap but all the links in the old thread don't work anymore

edit: i've also found this website but it's decks only, i'd love to see the soft goods as well, the vhs cassettes, wheels and trucks and the completes

The snow issue is cool though.  It has boards from Shorty's, World and Santa Cruz

There’s an Adobe pdf converter iPhone camera app that will center them as perfect scan like images.

Back to school '97 was my intro to CCS and gets the ol' nostalgia juices flowing.  Sitting in the back of the bus, picking out all the custom completes I wanted to put together. Ah.. good times.

Get hungry on it!

There’s an Adobe pdf converter iPhone camera app that will center them as perfect scan like images.

It's already included in your phone. Hold down your Notes icon, a menu will pop up, "Scan Document" and just point your camera at the page. It's crazy easy, you're welcome.

I just did this in 2 minutes, but didn't have very good lighting:

Super handy thing to know if you have to send a document to someone but you only have your phone on you.

Back on topic, I love love love the editing and formatting of 90’s catalogues. I also find it amazing that I’m like 10 years everyone went from Mail orders to ordering online. I feel a lot of creativity was lost in the conformity of clean websites with minimalistic UI.

I'm not sure if this was posted already, but this guy compiled a lot of mid 90's to early 2000's catalogs on Archive.org.
https://archive.org/details/@origamirobot

This Skate Express one from 94 had me drooling... https://archive.org/details/cali4nia-skate-express-1994-74/mode/2up

This one from 93 has the fabled Acme 1-Bearing wheel. https://archive.org/details/ccs-1993-summer/mode/2up
I remember a friend buying a set of these and all 4 wheels popping off the core after an under-rotated back 180...

@rothdigga deck in the '94 catalog!

What’s SCS? Acronym, or a brand I’ve never heard of?

Sorry, I hadn't even looked at the catalog before, but it is Santa Cruz Skateboards, early 90s everything was shortened, as per this link and associated deck pic:
