Big fan of all skatemags and rags. Been a Thrasher subscriber since the early 00's and it's still a pleasure when a new issue hits the mailbox.
Online "mags" are a bit different breed as it's usually one and done compared to mags: see new article pop up, read it, maybe enjoy it. That being said, there's some great interviews being done, like I've been enjoying those Heck Ride interviews lately. Chrome Ball Incident is the gold standard for those, but it's more of a blog. Jenkem is great,
For rags, I'd like to get some Skate Jawn issues here. Same with Lowcard, some years back they got products & rags to this side of globe, so it was always nice to pick up a new issue. Haven't read the latest Confusion issues, it was kinda Eurocard, diy focused mag. Skate Witches is awesome! All b/w xerox zines always welcome.
I have complained this ALOT, but I'd like to like Free, but their layout is such an abomination it makes reading those pages a complete chore. I got the newest issue here right in front of me and I just can't muster the will power to actually read it even though there's some good stuff in there. Hate the typefaces, text is too big, kerning is all fucked, there's no margins or padding... I think those things work if you do a new hip indie festival webpage, but it's everything that the graphic designer in me hates to see in print, apologies to the person who does the layout
The quality of the print for photos is good though and I appreciate the euro/UK-focus. And you shouldn't really complain about something that is free..
