Great video. Very entertaining. Everyone delivered.

Pet peeve, hate seeing the Shake Junt grip in any video but surprised to see it in a wknd video.

Also, P-Rod probably wanted to sign Nikolai at graduation. That dude is too tech for wknd. I’ll be shocked if they can keep him on. Hope they can, he’s incredible.

I would have switched the last two parts, but I admit I'm biased towards goofiness and against swishy pants. I would have just cut Nikolai's entire first song while I was at it, but his second song shit was sick. I agree about the shakejunt; that shit is only acceptable in an SJ video, if ever. I would put that in the contract when signing riders.
These guys should start making mainstream skate movies in the style of Thrashin' and Gleaming the Cube. Either that or an episodic thing. Something inspired by Eastbound & Down, Twin Peaks, Curb, Bored to Death, and Search Party. I imagine Tim Heidecker's Abso Lutely would be interested to work with them.

WKND stays finding and skating the cuttiest spots and i love every single clip of it. i feel like everyone in LA is skating the smae blown out spots but every WKND video they are finding brand new ones. Grant's pins/maps app must look insane
Same here, it's always a pleasure.
Jordan / Tom K are always on the hunt too

That was great. @Atiba Applebum saw that rip n dip thing also. I think there is a lot of Easter eggs in it. Defo will rewatch. 10/10.

Might be controversial, but god Nikolai has the worst god damned fits between the pants, shoe colorways, and Shake Junt logo grip.

Never thought someone would skate to Bumpy’s Message

Only a once in a generation mind would think to mix it with Hungry Heart.

This was an incredibly well done video.

What's Nikolai's setup? I'm guessing 8" deck, venture lows, 51mm.
Dude should be pro

Think he’s most skaters currently and rides an 8.25. They talked about the venture collab with shake junt and how it’s on the 5.6 on the nine club with him in it.

Hah spitting in the lens like Misled Youth Greco

Grant freaking out seeing Tanner holding a Baker board reminds me of the story Wheatley told about Lakai freaking out when they heard he was taking a trip to Portland (Nike and Adidas HQ) even though it was just to see friends

Was the “fuck this guy” a Baker 2G/Staba reference?
[close]
wasn't Tanner riding Baker boards for a short stint? I have absolutely no proof, but i think that's what the skit is referring to.
[close]

Hah I didn’t know.  I’m sure it’s a universal worry as the boss when you see one of your skaters with the other guys’ gear
Interestingly (at least to me), Toby was getting flow from Baker back around 2016/7. I remember seeing them all roll up in the van, and the perplexed look on the Boss's face when he watched Toby go buckwild doing 10 tricks in about 5 seconds. I wonder how long that alliance lasted?

I really really really dig Toby's vibe—it's great to see him hooked up with WKND.

Brilliant. WKND has really grown on me, despite the Johan dilemma and the weird graphic phases. Their videos have been untouchable lately.

I like this idea of comparing wknd riders to Disney princesses.

Tom Karangelov is Moana due to his adventurous taste in spots
Trevor Thompson is Belle from Beauty and the Beast because he seems well read (could be wrong about that though)
Jordan Taylor is Rapunzel from Tangled cause he's a quirky little gem
Tanner Burzunski is Jasmine from Aladin because the suaveness of his skating is akin to the suaveness of Jasmine's general character
Johan Stuckey was Aurora from Sleeping Beauty cause he aged very poorly

Is it just me or did the guy who had the last part (high fives the security guard ) touch on that bs 180 fakie manny fakie flip out?
I’ve done a Zapruder type breakdown and at least to me it appears he touched.

Video is top notch and I loved it just thought this was interesting and worth a mention.

How does WKND support this many people?
[close]

Was wondering the same.. I don't know..

I'm guessing they do pretty well as a distributor? Grant's Hyperion Dist. distributes Butter Goods which has kind of blown up outside of skating... their clothes are in the 2K games and stuff. Maybe there's some money in that.

Either way it definitely feels like they put everything they earn back into the brand which is great. This is the best video I've seen in a long, long time for all of the reasons mentioned throughout this thread.

I thoroughly enjoyed this! I initially didn't make the connection between Thrasher and the music rights, but the skating, filming, callbacks, skits, cameos, and music were all fantastic. I hope this video becomes a great introduction for some young skaters. I understand it doesn't quite work that way anymore, but it truly was an incredibly fun video. Tanner and Nikolai's skills were absolutely amazing! I’d buy in on VHS. 😂
