Better yet, what happened to Lance Mountain Jr?
ok. this post is yet another example of why people don't really like you on this board. as i've seen through many of the threads you've posted in over the last couple months, people are annoyed by you and you can't figure out why. i'm ok with you and i know you've pm'ed me a few times and you seem like a nice kid, so i'm going to be nice, and try to help you out a little and break it down for you in a nice way:
the way you post shows your age, your inexperience and lack of knowledge about skateboarding. its not your fault. you're just young and eager and enthusiastic, but to me, and what seems like a lot of people on this board, it can be annoying (although occasionally funny due to the sheer absurdity of some of your posts). you take little snippets of information that you've read about skateboarding's past and regurgitate it as gospel. you're like the little kid that's trying to chime in on the older guys conversation even though you don't really know what they're talking about, yet you try to present yourself like you have the experience, credibility and understanding that those older guys have.
for example your post above. i made a thread inquiring about Sean Payne, a really good skateboarder who was getting solid amounts of coverage and who seemed to be on the verge of turning pro a few years ago, and people made posts directly relating to the inquiry. then you make the post in question. from my point of view a few things are going on:
1. You've heard of Lance Mountain and his history and the impact he's made on skateboarding and you see the respect other wiser, more experienced people give him
2. You've heard of his son, who got a small amount of coverage and notoriety mostly due to the relationship he shared with his dad (board graphics, bit parts in videos, little actual skateboarding coverage).
3. You want to appear as though you know "what's up" with the older guys and ask about his whereabouts even though in the grand scheme of things (and you would know this if you were skateboarding at the time), Lance Mountain Jr. was in nowhere near the same spectrum as Sean Payne was in skateboarding.
Maybe it would be understandable if there was any known connection between these two skaters, but there isn't.
ps. Yes, I know this is longwinded and there's plenty more important and meaningful things I could be doing, but I'm bored at work
