Went down to Santa Cruz and skated Derby Park with Eman recently, just a little warm up session. He filmed a few clips and shot a few flicks and talked about why he likes skating at one of the oldest skateparks in still around...

one of the best dudes out who really knows how to keep it real. after 'let's do this!' i'm sure it was made obvious to him how much money he could be making outside of vox and santa cruz; he's a good man.

derby was the first skatepark i ever went to and emmanual guzman was there that day.  this was before he was on any of his sponsors, but he was the nicest guy ever and he ripped the shit out of it (which is a lot harder than it looks).  i sucked and was way overwhelmed by the snake run, i was just doing some stupid powerslides and 180s on the bank, but there were only about four of us there and emmanual was giving everyone props and just being the coolest guy.  it made a big impression on me that someone so unbelievably good at skating just wanted to have fun with everyone else skating and didn't act cocky or arrogant in the slightest.

i believe he's going to have a part in a thrasher video in the works right now, they have another trip to do but it sounds like it's nearing completion.
eman is truly one of the most solid people i know, on board and as a person in general. he keeps the cardiel/shao/karma etc mode of ATV skating alive and well and in style, which is so rare now, and so impressive. he's a good and dedicated friend. can't say enough good stuff about home boy. and yeah,  super underrated.
derby is one of the weirdest and hardest things to skate- it looks like a blast, but when you go you discover how awkward it is. eman crushes it.
