I was skating a pair of smls, loved them, got a pair of Spitfires and they've worn down a shit ton. Super coned out and one or two wheels are noticeably larger than the other ones. Granted, I've had them for a year, but they've been this way for at least 6 months. I've finally got anough money and ordered another pair of smls. Hopefully I'll have just as good of an experience.

You should save up and buy a full set next time.

Well played sir.

seriously dude? rotate your wheels.

Fuck that. If I'm taking off my wheels, its either to change bearings or change sets. And if I'm changing bearings, I have to put the wheels back on the same place. It's an OCD thing I think. The thought of rotating my wheels makes me really uncomfortable.

Why do you "really like" a company who's product you think is not worthy of spending money on?  Just get different wheels.

wow are you serious? it makes it way harder to skate if you leave your wheels all coned like that. loosen your trucks a bit. My skateboard goes completely straight if i fuck up a trick and it shoots out on me, id say 9/10 people do not enjoy this luxury, it always leans to their heel edge.

spitfire and darkstar have been really bad wheel companies since at least the time I have started skating, and any company that makes decks should not make wheels. both those companies make decks now. Nowadays the biggest wheel you can find is usually a 52 which sucks, i like 54s and they are fucking hard to find. I got Adam Dyet STFs and they are 54s and they are harder than anything I have ever ridden and I have done more powerslides on these than ever because they are just so good for it. I got out into the parking lot when I first got them and I almost fell right on my ass doing a powerslide they were so slick and it was a ghetto ghetto ground and i slid like 3 feet off just throwing my board down. bones have just been getting better and better, cant see spitfire ever being good, sorry. they make all their money off image they dont need good product to make money.

Jim will probably read this thread and then dejectedly look down at the floor, grimace, and then shake his head woefully

I like Bones better but I have a dumb reason for it...Spitfires just get too dirty too fast and turn into this awful yellow-brown color. The urethane looks and feels different between the brands, but I can't honestly say I notice a huge difference when I skate them. Bones feel a little "harder" while Spitfires seems sort of "brittle." Whatever floats your boat!

On the real tho, Ya'll should get some blueprint wheels and then take a second to reevaluate where you're at when it comes to your wheel game.

No, they're for fruitbooters. Powell makes rollerblader wheels called Eulogy. They try not to publicize it, which is strange, since they openly market Bones Swiss Bearings to rollerbladers. I could see, from a business perspective, why they want that market--a complete set is 16 bearings and 8 wheels.

I do love deluxe and all they are about, but I have had the worst luck with spitfires.3 sets of street burners in a month is a bit much.

I really wish I could like Spitfire wheels more. I like the company itself a lot for being so iconic, but as far as their wheels go, I've had nothing but bad experiences. Many of them have flatspotted within the first month, or literally within hours! And I had a pair of cored wheels once, and when I did a powerslide the core just popped out. Again, after only a couple weeks of owning them.

Meanwhile, I got a pair of Bones STFs over a year ago, and they still skate fine. Worn down quite a bit, but still smooth as ever.

The streetburners are some of my favorite wheels ever. I've had multiple sets and they've all treated me well.

54mm Streeburners are pretty much my favorite wheel. I like their regular 98 or 99 as well... bark bark.
