Poler Camping Gear
« on: February 01, 2011, 09:08:06 PM »
This stuff seems pretty awesome. I mean who doesn't like camping? Their skate team is pretty awesome too.

For a European who has never been to Walmart...is Walmart really like this? Like place where blacks hang out and act all weird?

Just curious.

Seems to fall in line nicely with related skating activities and the popular Beauty and the Beast-style trips.

I definitely back it and their logo is pretty cool.

I agree. I would much rather support a company that supports skateboarding, even if it isn't directly making products for the actual act.

Pretty skeptical about this.  What do they make?  Hand warmers and a sleeping bag?  If I'm spending money on camping gear I want quality shit thats going to last, not a cool logo and a skate team.  At this point it looks like they are just trying to capitalize on the already mentioned "popular Beauty and the Beast-style trips".

It looks like they make everything from tents to stoves. Go to the second page of the blog and you can download their "campalogue".

I'm not really concerned with what logos I'm sporting when I'm on a mountain, but I guess its a good idea to make outdoor stuff more appealing.

I'm going to buy a t-shirt & maybe a hoody. Looks like a super rad little company.
Scotty Whitlake is on their snowboard team & McCrank is on the skate team: two legit dudes.

I actually do some pretty heavy wilderness tripping stuff. . . & the development of real ass camping gear is no joke.

But for car camping & festivals, etc, this stuff seems cool.

It looks like the company is owned by an existing camping company

I hear you, man. I love gettin' all rattled on a bunch of mushrooms and wandering around in the forest.
i saw my grandma bail off a 4 set once in my house and she even got up and came to red lobster after.

Rick Mcrank, Keegan Sauder and their friends have been into skating and camping trips (and motorcycle riding) long before Beauty and the Beast, I remember reading about their exploits almost 10 years ago. I wouldn't mind picking up some of their stuff, that orange sweat shirt is rad and would be nice to have while camping (in case you get lost, easier to spot).

cool stuff i guess, but when i go looking for camping stuff, i'm definitely going to go to a walmart and pick up some coleman shit for next to nothing over going to a skate boutique and paying 300% more for hipster camping gear.

It sucks that it ultimately comes down to what you can afford. I'd much rather give my money to a company I'm stoked on, than some corporate bullshit like walmart.
