plantar fasciitis

Anyone deal with this? I am doing the stretches and using the massage ball. What about good shoes to help treat it?

I have to be really careful with shoe sizing, and always err on the smaller side. The massage ball is a must. One thing you might like to do is to roll a cold bottle with your sole, just like a massage ball. If the pain starts to flare, just count it as a loss and let it get better before trying to skate or do anything physical. It's an injury you'll have to live with and manage.

I have it bad, both feet. Advil, massage with a frozen water bottle. Get some good shoe inserts for everyday use, if you're on your feet a lot for work buy some really supportive sneakers like Asics with a wide thick heel.
I just started using the night braces that keep your feet bent like you're standing & I noticed the morning hobbles were gone immediately.
Overall it really sucks!!!!

Do you have any pic or link to show? Sounds interesting.
One thing I like to do, and I don't know how good it is, is to walk barefoot if it's bothering me too much. Of course you shouldn't risk your soles in the mean, gritty, ruff streetz, but going around at home can be really soothing. I don't know how much of it is all in my head, though...

Just look up Plantar Night Splint on Amazon. Some Walgreens or Walmarts will have them too.

I wouldn't walk around barefoot, you should keep on supportive shoes with good arches as often as possible. Barefoot will keep that Plantar Fascia flat and can cause heel spurs.

I was told by the doctor mines was due to my left foot being irregularly flatter then my right, so i only feel it on my left foot. When I'm skating i use the gamechangers insoles and it really helps me not feel the pain. I CANNOT skate in regular insoles, i start feeling crazy pain after about 30 min. Also I started using cupsoles only from now on, no more vulc shoes after years of the thinnest vulc shoes ever ( I loved boardfeel).

When I'm not skating the doctor prescribed this Super feet insoles they sell at the pharmacy that work to help with your arch so you don't feel any kind of pain thought the day. If you have a flat foot it takes time to adjust to it and might be painful at first but once you get accustomed to it its not bad.

Agree with all of that, I want to try the Vans Kyle Walker shoe, maybe the only one I'd be able to skate in with out my PowerSteps insoles in them.

I dealt with this for a long time.  I cured it by freezing a water bottle and rolling it under my foot for about a half hour every day.  I also but a set of boots for when I was at work.  That ultimately cured it once I got serious about it.

I stopped skating for a week or two until it went away. I would soak my feet in warm water for twenty minutes, at least once a day. My doctor prescribed me anti-inflammatory pills and I started using orthotics, in addition to cupsoles. I was skating a bunch of vulcanized Vans when I got it, but don't actually know if that's what caused it. Good luck, because that shit fucking sucked.

Yah I'd start messing with different insoles....maybe get a pair of running shoes as chillers.....orthotics if they don't break the bank....go to a foot massage place....

Make sure you go to the right kind though, otherwise you're gonna end up getting a half assed foot massage, your dick yanked, and 60 bucks added to your bill.

how's the sizing on those?

for the record i wear a size 9 in most brands (lakai emerica nikesb)

for Cons i got chucks in size 8.5 and fit perfect, size 9 in the KA2s were good and i got another free pair in 8.5 that was perfect

so for a thicker cupsole would y'all recommend a 8.5 or 9 ? i'll be ordering em online cause the local doesn't stock too many cons outside the cts/one star

My push foot suffers from this. Has cut into my switch tricks but more out of lack of confidence in that foot.
Also has made me retire from wearing Vans. I love the old skool and the era but my feet hate them. I skate in Lakai currently but I may end up "selling out" to Nike if it saves my feet.
Things I have done to deal:
Roll my foot around on a tennis ball
Massage the center of my foot
Heat soak
Less soda and sugar (this is more for the ankle arthritis that I know is coming but I can definitely feel a difference)

I also run from 2 or 3 miles at night but that's to stay in shape so I can skate longer. I use Nike running shoes and they feel so good on my feet that i am able to run hence my possible shoe switch for skating. I definitely have the old mentality of skate shoe brands for skating but at this point, whatever helps me skate longer. knee is starting to be a piece of shit too. Come spring I'll probably go biking to try and counteract what's trying to happen in that knee. In theory that is

Tennis balls are good because they have some give, but you should look into dog chewing toys if you haven't already. Those rubber balls covered in spikes are a great tool for massages and are a decent stress relief tool and they're cheap.
