Anyone have experience with Globe’s waxed canvas? How does it compare to the the waxed canvas that Gravis used? This navy/black colorway of the Surplus is tempting me:

Man, I miss those shitty, brown Globe Finale shoes all us broke teenagers would skate exclusively back in the early 2000s

Oh yeah, those were the one.
I had the black and white and they were perfect

Fuckin yikes! I have a coworker that could be Sheckler’s twin. I’m confident they are the same amount of interesting. … I shoulda said “nolimitsoldier” so neither of us would have to set our eyes on such ugliness.

Saw a woman - clearly a non-skater - wearing these at the grocery store, lookin real fresh too. Possibly something in the water. Hope them Globes take good care of you.

I actually found a pair of the all black surplus on a crazy sale recently and grabbed them to try. I miss the Huf Classic Lo and these seemed to be close. After trying them they're wayy too wide for me. Fit TTS lengthwise but roomy all around otherwise. This shoe with a different last would be very nice though as it is super well made and comfortable. Bummer, I wonder if they make anything slimmer because the quality surprised me...

Had a pair of Surplus, really good looking shoe with a decent fit and comfortable but the grip of the sole turn me of*. It was great for chilling but not much for skating.

I always been eyeing the Gillette and the Dover but even at 50% never pull the trigger.

I’m skating the Gillette mid’s and love them. Got them from zumiez on clearance for 29.99. If you watch they always have them there for that price.

Has Globe ever made shoes where the upper is a map of the world?

If not, this could be what’s holding them back.

Tilts breaking in good for me. They got this weird dent/sink in the ball of the foot idk if that’s by design.

My legs hurting in weird places but im a chalk it to the game. Still skating this fucked board but im looking forward to the broken in shoe + new board combo.

Missing my accels, skating these make accels feel like a fucking vans slip on. Maybe globe can convert me to classy dress shoe skate shoe type of guy, I kinda be dressing like that when I skate switch

i bought a pair of Gillette's for a work shoe in January (so no skateboarding in them at all) and the foxing tape is just detaching from the shoe very easily. especially in the spot where your shoe bends as you walk. it's pretty shit. anyone else have these and experiencing this?

I got the mids two summers ago and didn’t have that issue. However, I retired them after a month because they were too long and it was throwing off some of my go-to tricks.

Either their glue sucks or their manufacturing process sucks because I got the AG Dovers and the uppers on those separated from the outsole on the sides of my right shoe close to midfoot.

Some of the shoes look nice, but shop employees must have thought they sucked after trying them or just think Globe is whack. Very few shops stock them.

I had the all black pair and they did the exact same thing. Friend gave me a pair of the waxed canvas blue Surplus too and it happens on those aswell but not as bad.

I contacted Globe about the Gillette's and they offered a new pair but I didn't follow through

Not sure if anyone cares, but Austyn Gillette is getting a new pro model soon. Samba-esque cupsole shoe, but instead of the stripes on the side there is a swoopy panel in the middle. Pretty minimal upper and very low profile. I don't have pics but I saw the development samples in person. They seemed like fun shoes to skate if you're into low profile cupsoles.

I still have a pair the HUF Gillettes, never really skated. Took out the laces and wear em as loafers if I'm dressing more formal. They do get some hot spots if you do a full wedding day in em.
