I posted this on my instagram but figured I'd share it here for the fellow skate nerds. All the footage of Jason Lee, Guy Mariano, and Spike Jonze from Sonic Youth's 100% video from 1992. I hadn't ever seen just the skate footage from the video cut together so decided to do it. Some rad unseen footage from the early Blind days. This video definitely had a huge influence on me to start skating in the 90s.

had a little kid launch ramp phase beforehand but this era was when I really started street skating every day. Still one of my favorite rock songs too and the skating had to do with that.

I remember buying this tape when it came out, got it and the cure "wish" at the same time, kind of proud of young me.

Looks clearly post-Video Days but pre J. Lee leaving? It's funny how so many short lived companies from back in this era are SO well documented and certain team lineups seem like they lasted a lifetime, yet in truth so much influential SUPER formative shit all just went on in the span of like 2.5 years. Madness!

Great to see this snapshot in time. I am currently really interested in the transition of the blind team between Video Days and Pack of Lies. During that year a lot of people left the team and a lot of people were added. I am guessing this was made somewhat before Pack of Lies came out. Jason is wearing a blind t-shirt so he was probably still on the team at that time. It would have been so cool if there had been a video with the old and new blind riders together.

...and if only Video Days had those Jovontae and Danny Way parts in it! Not that I approve much of Danny Way, but his early 90s parts were pretty sick

Was so stoked on this when it came out, couldn't just watch it on youtube whenever you wanted either.

When I was even younger I remember being stoked on REM End of the world as the film clip had a kid doing street plants in an abandoned house.

Such a different world were there was fuck all skaters and anything that had some skateboard related in it was like a nod to a secret society or something, where I was from anyway.

I'll leave Tom Petty Free Falling out of that list as it was terrible and I thought gator was one of the skaters too, could be wrong on gator, the portrayal skating was horrible none the less.
