Trucks for 9.1 and 9.56
« on: October 24, 2019, 10:41:18 PM »
Just looking for tucks to fit the anti-hero orange crusher (9.1) and green giant (9.56). I want to keep it flush fro the 9.1. I was thinking indy 159, but that seems like a lot of overhang for the 9.56. Opinions?

Ace 66 or Indy 169. Big boards need big trucks.

i have 169s and the orange crusher. fits perfectly

i think the green giant would fit well too.. it tapers a bit at the truck mounts where the orange crusher is more full through the nose and tail

1st deck: indy 69, thunder 9.0 krux 9.0   (but its gonna be close, egg shaped and the wheels will stick out) same shiddy cast construction, different geo's.  2nd deck-any of the above or Ace 66s.  THROW away the bushings and replace with bones and also remove all washers for the Ace or Indy (just a suggestion)

Your options are relatively few, so that makes the enchooserating process more easier: Indy 169s, Ace55s for your 9.1 and the 66s for the 9.56, or either of the two new(er) offerings out of Ermico in SF... Venture 6.1s or the Thunder 161s. For me, if I'm going China, it's the Ace slabs; if I'm feeling made in the USA only, I'm going with the Thunders in the "Team Hollows" version. You get that taller geo for better clearance on bigger wheels thanks to the cast base plate, and all of that tasty, hollow, weight saving, goodness.
Plus, I don't care what people are saying, my Thunders feel like greased butter when grinding concrete. ...'Course, anything does if you're rolling fast enough, so just get what you feel like trying out & go faaast, I guess.
Hugs & happy shreddage to you.

EDIT: did Cigs say Krux?!? I genuinely had no idea.

Indy 169’s all day. I’ve got 159’s on my cruiser 8.8” with Hawgs chubby hawg wheels and they juuuust barley stick out because the wheels have an offset bearing seat. If you’re using regular street or park wheels they should be pretty close to flush on that size deck.

Thunders 161 have an 9.125 axle I believe. That could do the trick for you

yeah same as 169. Gonna pull on the orange eagle as well and debating 169 161 or 55. Figuring 54mm wheels if going with the 161 to help w wheelbite?
Ace 66 are 9.35” and would be almost a quarter inch wider than that eagle.

i'm running 159s on the orange eagle and they feel really good. might just be me, but the smaller trucks seem to add more carviness
