younger me - everything is fair game
old me - definitely not skating someones house and prob not a memorial...too old to get in a confrontation over a spot.

this^ this is really lame but I mainly just skate skateparks now so I don't mentally have to think about any weird sort of outcome.

Fuck that old man, Pulaski is fair game.

I try to avoid skating places that have a steady flow of traffic. Whether it's pedestrian or cars, those types of areas just turn me off. I don't like dealing with dodging people or cars just to get a grind.

Nothing off limits.
Churches, cemetery’s, veteran memorials, peoples houses, private property.
There are situations where you should not skate certain things tho. A cemetery while a funeral is going on, that would be lame.

These spots have good ditches or somethin?
For someone w.no signature ur awfully hostile, & that is why I do this

WW2 memorial in DC has some killer shit when its drained. I was saw it once in the winter and was drooling over the hips and gaps in the drained fountain. Theres shitloads of people around constantly. Not sure if anyone has ever barged it.

Being in the Tri-State, probably wouldn't do any 9/11 memorials.

Personally, if I happened to come out my backdoor and see you skating my pool or my steps and I didn’t invite you over I’m gonna go back inside, grab my board and throw it at your head. I don’t care if Lords of Dogtown made it look cool you’re trespassing on my shit and you will pay accordingly. Whoever said fucking WW2 memorial you’re a disrespectful scumbag. You try to skate my car I’ll throw my board at your head too/get in my car and run you and your friends over unless you pay for the damage you did.

The Milwaukee War Memorial has been a frequently-hit spot for about 30 years now, when I talked about skating it when talking with my dad once, his reply was "Good, put that thing to use, when we came back from Korea they promised us a lot of shit they never delivered on and built that place with the funds that were intended for other veteran programs, so have fun skating it."

Never felt guilty after that, if I can get the blessing of someone who it was dedicated to, I'm all good.

the war memorial is such a sick spot man!!! cool to see other milwaukee lurkers! me and my friend got the cops called on us once there by museum staff, really only interaction i've had there.
[close]

Most of the missions there were done late at night in order to avoid security, but there were a lot of times we'd hit it up mid-day and get in a good 30-60 minutes without anyone caring about us being there.  Milwaukee was always so weird like that, some days you could skate the best spots for hours in the middle of a Sunday afternoon and nobody would kick you out, others, you'd roll up at midnight and be booted before you got warmed up.

I moved from Milwaukee to Chicago about 6 years ago. There’s security everywhere here. In Milwaukee, security was scarce and they seemed too lazy to care.

I think that the game security played in Milwaukee was the "Will I have to exert any real effort to cross the complex and go tell those kids to leave, only to see them back an hour later?  It sure is (insert hot/cold) today, and I feel tired" as their way of deciding whether or not to get off their asses and move.

It's that, or they were going by coin toss, it seemed awfully random.

Skate everything. If you're having any doubts, quit skating and join a co-ed slow-pitch softball league.

our physical world is fleeting and our being is transient

strip the 'obstacle' of its signification, it just is. your sign points to yes.

skate everything.

but hurting peoples feelings is kinda wack. so don't do that. but don't trip.

this is the answer

Everything is fair game until someone complains, then it depends on how right you are to skate the spot and how much of a dick the complainer is.

Edit: After reading some of this stuff, yeah, actually skating someones house is a bit sketchy, even if it's a drained pool, at least go somewhere abandoned for that shit.

I ve skated  memorials b4 for sure.  Living people will get bummed but those who have passed and are in the next place would surely support skateboarding/living life to its fullest.  Somtimes you gotta be political so's not to start shit with the materialists.

Anyone here every skate D.C.? A good portion of the spots are memorials. Pretty sure Pulaski’s flatground has the whole constitution engraved on the top. I remember skatin some memorial stairs when I was about 16 and all these marines pulled up and told me to beat it cuz I was “disrespecting all people who fought and died for America”. Anyway fast forward a couple years, I joined the army and went back and skated it.

it must be crazy when chico sells you something and the tables switch from "give me my money chico" to "giving my money to chico"
