Certain Polar shape dims are consistently off.

I have an 8.25 where the sticker (and their website) says the wb is 14.125 but it's actually a 14.25.
Also, the 8.38 I've got should have a 14.5 wb but it's 14.38 in reality.

No biggies, but yeah, seems like these kind of discrepancies are consistent with some of their shapes akin to e.g. certain DLX BBS shapes.

have they stopped making wheel wells?
I feel like they used to be everywhere with lots of choices and now it's slim pickens.

My WW backstock is drying up so I e-m'd 'em like a may-un, specifically about the 1991 shape. Customer service said they weren't sure if it would be in the next drop but typically there is at least 1 wheel well offering, check back in late Jan/mid Feb.

8.5 axles should be closest to flush
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

i bought a grip of those 14-14.125 short wheelbase 8.25s from their sale too and they were all wrong. traded them all to a friend. width discrepancy doesnt bother me but wb difference can get annoying if its up 0.25 from whats advertised.

Anyone got real life dimensions on the Polar Eyeball shape? Looks like a nice shape. Width over trucks, tail, nose, wheelbase? Knowing that Polar dimensions are often quite off, I can't trust what they state. Local shops don't have this, so I'd have to order or wait for a new drop and hope the local shops would get one.

Speaking of, anyone know when the new drop is and if they'll have the Eyeball shape in there? Could easily wait for a new drop also as I'm injured currently, so there's no rush buying it now. Could possibly even have a nicer graphic, or much worse. Polar seem to have both. :)

iirc, the dims are 8.85, 31.75, and 14.125. Will have to check on tail, nose and width over the axles. Here is one though

Thanks. I’m in Finland, so we get the hardware drops later than in US. I’ll ask my local if they’ll get this new drop Eyeball. Graphics are just as fine for me as the BMX graphic. If you are able to post the measurements, that would be great. Was planning on pairing it with Ace AF1 55s.

Edit:
Found it on CCS based on the link you provided @timemachine. They say they measure by hand. This sounds pretty much exactly why I’m looking for:

8.85" Width x 31.75" Length
Wheelbase: 14.125"
Tail Length: 6.50"
Nose Length: 6.85"
Front Axle Width: 8.60"
Back Axle Width: 8.60"
Traditional Maple Construction
Every Board is Measured By Hand

What eightish Polar would you pair with Venture 5.2 Highs? 7.875”, 8.0” or 8.125”? Based on the stated specs I would imagine that the 8.125” would work the best but as Polar is notorious for giving wrong dimensions, I don’t know. I’d love to hear some experiences of the eightish Polars.

5.2 His with the Polar 7.875 is an awesome combination in my experience. The deck really feels more like an 8.0 than anything narrower. Haven't measured it exactly, though. But that combination is really nice.

Edit: The Polar 8.125 is a very, very good shape as well. But I use 5.6 Hi's with that one, the 5.2s feel a tad narrow for my taste for that shape.

Caveat: I really only ride cast Ventures these days, so I can't really say about forged Vents as it's been ages since I rode any.

One more edit as I like talking about Polar and Ventures: despite the minimal width difference on paper, there's a big difference in the feel between the 7.875 and the 8.125. The former is below 32" in length with a short wb and has the feel of a true tech deck. The latter feels more like an ATV deck in my opinion. I ride the 8.125 everywhere from ledges to transition.

Always been pleased to see any brand that shows all their dimensions.

Polar is one of the few brands that have all their dimensions clearly listed on their product and website, even if some of them are incorrect from their site and board stickers when compared to the actual product.  Not sure how the others compare anymore, but these three seem fairly good below.

I recall having one of the Polar 8.125 which was the same as the AH black eagle, only steeper, but as per BBS, some are steeper and some more mellow, so it is a bit random in that regard.  The 8.125 with the 6.75 tail was so good for me.

From their site:

https://polarskateco.com/collections/7-875/products/deck-emile-laurent-accordion-dog

7.875” x 31.625”
Nose: 6.8”
Wheel Base: 14.125”
Tail: 6.5”

https://polarskateco.com/products/team-model-trumpets-1?_pos=1&_sid=32b18ab85&_ss=r&variant=52030845518153

8.0” X 31.85”
Nose: 6.85”
Wheel Base: 14.25”
Tail: 6.5”

https://polarskateco.com/products/roman-gonzalez-mexico?_pos=1&_sid=0b86a77b0&_ss=r&variant=53032290222409

8.125" X 32"
Nose: 7"
Wheel Base: 14.25"
Tail: 6.75"

On another note, I don't recall seeing a "Short" version besides 8.0, 8.25 and 8.5, but here is another one, so I guess it has been a while since I checked all the shapes and options on there:

8.375” X 31.9” - Short
Nose: 6.85”
Wheel Base: 14.125”
Tail: 6.6”

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

The polar 8.125 short is the best board I have ever skated. 8.125 x 31.7 x 14wb. 6.9 nose and 6.7 tail. Perfect dims for me. Rode it with 5.2 venture highs and I should’ve just bought like 5 of those decks.

Nice!

Even more options now too for the different variants.

Looks like nine of the current boards on the Polar site have the 8.125 short version too.
