Mike V speed freaks part is great and his PD part is about as classic as it gets.

But he did punch aussie photographer Mike Om for laughing at his poetry, that was lame. Unless the poet is really good, poetry readings are generally crap. I don't think he's a kook but he does take himself a bit too seriously.

Mike V passed along the chin strap to Bam via his special move boneless hair transplant

Like NewRocCity/231st Street, Mike V is not forgotten.  What is he up to these days? Any update?  Endless black flag tours and selling out Powell decks?

Now that’s doin it

Mike V of Black Flag!?

Went to check in on Mike V after seeing the Black Flag videos of him tossing someone off the stage. I went to his website and there was a brand new blog post that was mostly just the cities he drove to and the hikes he took, but the post took a turn after he recounted the van almost flipping after service neglect from Greg Ginn. The rest of the blog is Mike's frustration, anger, and his resolve to be done with the band as soon as the tour ends. Mike V quits Black Flag, I thought! This is news! I forgot my SLAP password as I rarely log in, and by the time I remembered it, the post was deleted! It must have been up for mere minutes. Did anyone see it? The url is still cached in my browser history: https://mikevallely.com/roads-and-resolutions/

Post is now back up but edited. Removed are mentions of Greg's refusal to fix the van as well as the part that he was done with this band. Guy posts and deletes everything. Constant scrubbing.

Hilarious thread, an appreciation thread where said quality is non existent haha.

I will admit he always gave everything at demos for years, which I always had respect for.

Everyone clowns on Mike for being a Rollins clone…because well…he’s the singer in black flag and has a history of being physically imposing….but Jim Thiebaud also has a poetry book and does he also have a Rollinsesque tattoo as well?  Definitely Jason Jessee has one but for some reason I think Jim T has one too….
where can we get those Jim T poems?

I enjoyed the first drive film where he visited the sick or disabled kid. I forget. but it really changed my perspective on things and how powerful skateboarding is, as well as small gestures to people less fortunate than us. Not too long after the Johnny Romano thing happened and Real stepped up.

Rollins did a terrible job of ripping off Bukowski and Mike V did a terrible job of ripping off Rollins.

It doesn't bug me but arguably that's a bug.
Hahaha!Right on that.
