These were the only articles or pieces by a major skate outlet that told stories about regular skateboarders, and not pros or industry people.
With the exception of the obligatory forward from the editor, 100% of everything written in Thrasher, Transworld, TSM, and every other major print or media outlet is about professional skating or people in the industry of skating. A few of the smaller websites, that are a little less beholden to the industry, have at least some articles that criticize elements of pro skating and the its surroundings. I got into it with Brink about this on social media once. And his answer was basically, 'you do it then.' I get his point. But I have a job and don't have aspirations to work in 'skating.' And it totally speaks to the mentality from the industry about their ability to take constructive criticism. Or talk about anything besides themselves.
