I can't believe how someone can literally use the most racist symbolism there is (from a party/organisation that cost the life of millions of people) support a white power band, sell SS merch, called people 'nigger' on a number of occasions etc. and is STILL be defended by some people. They just rub it off, 'yeah it's for shock value', 'he had a rough past', 'he loved to get a kick out of it' etc.

Maybe if it was a phase in his life and if he was a changed man afterwards who owned up to it. But what did he do? Half assed his apology, never really dove into it, and went back to his old ways 7 months later. He still uses the symbolism to this day.

And then you have Berle, Sheffey and a handful of other dorks cry that 'he lost all his sponsors'.

He just issued yet another very brief and generic "apology" on the Rollers Insta and I see people citing this as just "some old shit from Slap" or "something he did in his youth" yet again. Those apologizing for the apologist are really half-assing it. I didn't hear about this on Slap, I saw 5 industry people post about it, that led me to Slap which seems like a place I may kinda like so I registered. Once again he didn't mention specifics, most of the people who support him in the industry probably still will and they'll all continue thinking this is about something from 30 years ago. I see the word "evolve" used a lot by his apologists, yet I see very little evolution. I see a cycle. Do or say something racist, get called on it, realize it's going to hurt your bottom line, half-ass apologize, don't change, rinse and repeat. I think we're entering a time when people wish for the cycles to be broken, not repeated. He used to be pretty popular here in Japan, now most of the younger skaters I've spoken to about this think he's some weirdo with a Kōrudoheddo (cold head). It's no secret there's a lot of tolerance for racism here in Japan, and the older skate community has it's fair share of it. Hopefully things are changing...

I’ve never heard him being referred to as that. Not that that means anything, I don’t hang out with bowl trolls
anyway.
I don’t think he really has much sway in the skate world here anymore, maybe some old heads still back him but we should be more concerned about his popularity in the chopper world; those guys idolize him. Not much different from the US though I suppose, chopper heads will always stick up for him...🤷‍♂️
