I appreciate your view on this man, the lips are more of a representation for the shit black skaters (and people) have had to deal with for a long time and coming from a edgelord affluent OC kid it may seem like fun criticism, but to me he’s a microcosm for a certain brand of racism/racial ignorance. How Robert Neal wearing a hot wheels jacket is seen as a point of comedic criticism but to me and a lot of black people I know we all grew up wearing nascar racing jackets and forces as little kids. For him to see it as funny to me reads as him finding black culture clownish (he seems to target black skaters for things ingrained in our culture) . It just feels as another white person telling me or my people what’s right and wrong because it might not assimilate with his culture.
