About a year ago I watched an excellent documentary from 1983 called "Seventeen" about high schoolers in Muncie, Indiana, and even in the early '80s I really could not believe how heavily and openly the n-word was used by white people, running the spectrum in tone and intent. Is it Indiana's proximity to the South, or some supercharged mutant hybrid of Midwestern and Southern White supremacy?
