I believe ex DNA pro and Florida/Ohio legend John Buchanan served in the US Airforce

I beat him in a contest because he was absolutely shit faced. I'll take it.

R there any Israeli pro skateboarders cause if there is one of them for sure.
Skaters that actually try to pursue skating more seriously in israel usually tend to skip the military service, missing 3 years between 18-21 is harsh...

i remember Kingpin did an article way back about skaters in countries that have mandatory service and interviewed a bunch of skaters all over, can anyone find it? im pretty sure it was a Kingpin article

John Buchanan was in the Air Force before he turned pro and joined the Army after skating to fly helicopters. He is still is in the Army flying them today.

The Gov Marius Syvanen had to report for Finland's mandatory service. There were a couple interviews before hand where he addressed it and said his sponsors were helping him and trying to lobby the Finnish government for him not to go but to no avail. So he ends up reporting and they made him take a physical and I guess his wrist was sucked and was jacked from years of skating they were like this makes you useless you're discharged.
Yo dude I straight up already said that

Military service isn't exactly compatible with a legit skate career. Under your contract, you're expected to remain "fit to fight," meaning injuries are severely frowned upon and can get you thrown out if they're bad enough. You can't really progress much if you have the level of responsibilities the military puts on you.
