Question,
what’s the better app for selling? Depop seems to charge to much and is a hassle on getting paid, what does everyone else prefer?

They all have drawbacks .
eBay takes way too much of a cut.
Poshmark is the easiest to navigate, post items on and get shipping labels etc… but I only ever really sell shoes on there and lots of lowballs. It’s also set primarily for women’s fashion.can also hold your balance and reuse it…
Depop shoppers drive me crazy. Lots of flakes and non serious buyers.

Poshmark is probably my favorite but again, it’s a select shopping group and older demographic.

I just got done with a week of sales on Mercari, Poshmark, Depop and eBay. Mercari cancelled my whole account on day one on some ToS violation bullshit so no idea but also fuck them. Poshmark was lots of offers back and forth but only one sale. Probably not gonna refill my shop on there. Depop was cool but I sold everything there for 25-40% of my asking price. Also their messaging system and post sales order tracking is trash for the buyer so I've had a couple of messages asking when I am going to send out the stuff I sent out the day before. eBay was still the best saleswise but holy shit did they take 20% of my earnings? Yep - pretty greedy and not the only game in town.

You gotta get yer merch shipped asap as that is what holds up payouts. eBay was the best at this but I think Depop is lagging for me because of the aforementioned issue with the status of the shipments not updating.

I've never sold anything online. I only buy. The process of taking pics of everything, posting it on various websites, checking my email/msgs, going down to the post office, weighing it, etc. all seems incredibly daunting, especially when combined with having to document all sales to report to the government for taxes and the looming prospect of having someone return something (I also never return anything I buy). How much is my time worth? I usually just give my used clothes to homeless ppl.

But I'm sure once I had a system in place, it would be easier. And I give it up to those of you who do manage to successfully sell online.

Actually, aside from getting money, writing the detailed captions for each item is the only thing that really excites me about the whole process.

I do see the value of anything being sold though. My current flatscreen television I found next to a dumpster on the corner of my street. I figured it would work because the person that put it there, gingerly placed the remote on top of it. That said, it had a wall mount affixed to it that I had to remove. Needing to place it atop my dresser, I found one person selling the stand for this exact television online, and he was all the way on the other side of the country in New Jersey. Pretty cool that I had a specific need for which only he could provide. We connected like "Sleepless In Seattle" but for a Philips FlatTV.

Another time, I went to go see "Magnolia" on the big screen at the Egyptian theater one rainy night and wore my favorite Chocolate beanie. Halfway through my Thai meal afterwards, I realized I was missing my beanie. I retraced my steps back to the Egyptian and looked where I sat. No dice. I was pretty bummed out to lose my favorite beanie. I never forgot about it though: every few months, I would search "Chocolate skate beanie" in Google under Shopping. I never had any luck until one day, years later, when I saw some lady, also on the East Coast, was selling it on Poshmark for like $25. I didn't even waste any time with an offer; I secured that ASAP.

So, you guys selling things online are doing the Lord's work, don't forget that or let anyone tell you differently. Bigger men than I am, that's for sure.

Depop is just frustrating, way to many low ball offers and flakes, also the payment takes way to long

as a seller, poshmark is pretty solid. they take a good cut of the sale but they make it painless with the shipping label and getting paid.

poshmark as a buyer can get pretty pricey pretty quick. i've been big on poshmark out of the ones that everyone uses, but recently i've been buyin stuff off depop and i like it.

Added a shit ton of new shoes - Vans, Adidas, Asics, Nike

Some new, if not new pretty much barely worn - 10.5 for most, some 10 some 11.

Hit me up, I’m flexible really just want to see stuff go to a good home - gear madness hits hard.

Just trying to move it - selling it or I’ll sell it at some brick and mortar random shop for basically nothing to I’d much prefer to give someone here a huge steal - negotiable - new balance, vans, asics, last resort.

Added a bunch of pants including a few Polar pants.

Honestly if you offer me half the asking price on these I might accept because I need to clear space.

Not really a depop user but I bought some pants for some heath kirchart cosplay that did not work for me and maybe someone else will want em. If you’re a slapped and are interested just message me here I’ll make you a better deal. They’re super sick Stan Ray pants but the inseam is way too short for me and they’re missing the button

Will be adding a ton to my depop later this week...  8.5 shoes (Nike, NB#, Cons), Carhart WIP pants size 34, Levi's and probably a few other things.  If you're looking for Dunks or some Carhart's get at me.

Posted a few pair of pants and a couple tops. still good to skate in. Prices firm to account for polybag and getting the label printed (at my local drop off, polybag is $3.00, label printing is $1). Shipping from NYC

willing to meet up if you’re in bk, queens or the city.
