Dudes in this thread shouting out Peter Ramondetta like he didn't retire six months ago.

The only person from Huf who will get another shoe sponsor is Brad Cromer, though Dick Rizzo desperately deserves to get paid.

Austyn???? He’s like their biggest fucking pro

Yeah, but in terms of name recognition, he definitely is the most well known name.

I know he's not pro, but if Drysen continues to progress I could see him being marketable.  He has something special and he appears to skate all day everyday.

Yeah, those shoes from that photo are samples of his second shoe.

In terms of going anywhere, I’d like to see Austyn, Jake and Brad go to Vans.

I can see Austyn, Cromer, and maybe Drysen on Adidas for some reason.
I really hope someone hooks up Drysen because he rips.

"Yeah basically. We’ve seen plenty of pros with random vans footage over the years. Typically like eras, slip ons , or old schools but none the less. First person to come to mind in the sense they wore them but never would get on is Malto of people. Had a ledge line in a crail video in some eras I wanna say, in between dc and Etnies I think."

"Chris Cole too."

First person that comes to my mind, especially in relation to the topic, would be Dylan, who wore Vans for about a year, maybe more, between Gravis and Huf.

I think Rizzo is going to be in that same Vans program as Kader, Kadow, Dustin Henry, etc

Kader is getting a colourway so if he's not already will be officially on. Dustin Henry is on Vans Canada. But yeah maybe same program as the naughty little punk rock ketchup boy.

The first time I recalled a random pro wearing Vans whilst sponsored by someone else was Ellington when he skated for Emerica. There was an article in I think Transworld that maybe showed him skating in slip-ons, but for sure had a pic of him holding his heel with his slip-ons next to his foot and the photo caption was something about trying a trick in your chill shoes and paying the price or something to that effect. This must have been early '00s, shortly after This Is Skateboarding.

Latest video from Huf's demo in New York shows half of team skating in Vans, adding Tyler Bledsoe
and Caleb McKneely to the list of Dick Rizzo and Sammy Winter who have been wearing Vans recently in social media.. Who from Huf will end up in Vans next?? Are Vans the "Anti-Hero" of footwear in that anyone is safe to wear them between sponsors or even at your contradicting sponsors' demo free from judgment or association? Any confirmed team changes from anyone at Huf?? Really I'm just digging for Austyn gossip.. Huf was a legendary team in it's time. Hard to imagine Dylan riding for such a company these days so fuck 'em anyway. Many of them deserve better, or at least shoes with their names on them..
[close]

Yeah but if Dylan was around they prolly wouldn’t have left the shoe game cuz that dude could sell fucking shoes. No one on their entire team is even close to an individual brand as him.
[close]

well the rumor is Gravis went under because Dylan's shoe was a fail

and yeah, that photo on former insta definitely looks like a Wes Kremer 2

1 Dylan shoe is still selling like hotcakes on the interweb and aways sold

2 theyre not DCS get a clue...They are his second huf shoe

So I looked around online before replying to this, but they used to have an article(broken link now) with his shoe designer kelly, and if I remember right I thought that his shoe was actually doing awesome, and that the reason Gravis went out was cuz of a corporate restructuring at Burton.

this is true about gravis, not the dolts saying dylans shoes didn't sell

Yep, Gravis going under was more of Burton simply saying the money Gravis is making is not enough for us. It's not like they were losing a ton of money. Honestly, its a shame because Gravis was not around long enough to make more money, as I truly believe it  would have.

I think the fact it’s impossible to find pair that’s not super expensive these days says his shoe did well enough that those who have them won’t sell. It was somewhat niche but people still really want that shoe.

As some others here have stated, Burton was focused on consolidating brands (Selling off of Alien, Reflex, Habitat, etc).  They also moved Analog back to their Vermont office and continued to produce the outerwear (ATF Line) and shifted Gravis to Asia only market.  Gravis was unfortunately a very small piece of the portfolio, and wasn't worth moving forward with in the US.  This was not a result of Dylan's Shoes performing poorly, etc.

my guesses are as follows

Bledsoe  - Vans
Cromer - Cons
Rizzo - Vans
Sammy Winter - Vans
Ramondetta - DC
Plunkett - Nike (imagine him and Bobby shared part)
Pepper - Etnies
Matthews - DC
Janderson - Vansderson

who the fuck really knows though

That all seems accurate, I could see Josh on DC easy, still rips.. Cromer on Cons would look good. Bledsoe and Rizzo on Vans will promise a decade or more of heavy Vans / Quasi colabs. Jake would also be a huge pick up for Vans, honoring their California legacy the way Berle and AVE have been. Pepper on Etnies, wow. Plunket, maybe? Ramondeta?

What is Austyn doing?? Thats all I ask.. he deserves so much. I will start a kickstarter for him if he does mot land a shoe deal or at least a board sponsor in coming months. Converse would be acceptable. Would love to see Jake and Austyn stay touring together, if I had a million dollars I would give it to them to start a shoe company. Anything new along the darker, drabber tones of Former would fill the growing void of coolness in the skate footwear world.

That’s the funniest shit in this thread, and would be hilarious to see Austyn in DCs. Historically Austyns been with skater owned brands(habitat, and Huf), which is actually why him going there wouldn’t surprise me. The only core skate shoe companies left are sole tech, Lakai, and DC. DC is by far the biggest out of those 3. If DC gave him design rights and his own shoe, then I think it could be a possibility. I mean if they let him make a shoe that’s so not DC, then it could be possible given they are “core”. In all reality tho, it would prolly serve his career and image better if he manned up and pulled an MJ and went to a “corporate” company. None of the corporate companies minus Nike have shoe profiles that are similar to what he had goin at HUF. Hope he goes to the swoosh.

Austyn is too good for little cool indie companies, and too cool for the majors. Also, not cool enough to do something on his own. Painted himself into a corner.

Yeah, Sammy Winter is already flowed Vans as seen in his story on Instagram. And in terms of Austyn cornering him self, I have to agree with this. It seems as if he has wrote everything off. What is still interesting to me is that he hangs out with the WKND guys and doesn’t ride for that company anymore. You’re telling me there’s no hard feelings all around? I’ve been told that he has asked to get back on and Grant says no.
