8.25 ishod easy rider twin (it's a II) - Maroon is nice, gray top.

Coming off an 8.6 (actually 8.5 over the trucks) Creature evil twin (also have the 8.4 evil twin on hand but sending it back; that one also measures smaller over the trucks, like 8.25); wanted something smaller/shorter.

How is the Creature 8.6” Evil Twin? I ordered one. How does it compare to a Welcome 8.5” Evil Twin? Thanks!

Dear twin tail folks, I'm looking for a birthday gift for a friend, specifically an 8.5" twin tail, rather full shape (if possible), medium concave, 14.25" WB (WB not set in stone though). I would appreciate any suggestions!

Welcome Evil Twin 8.5” It has a full shape with 14.25” wheelbase. It’s great but they haven’t made anymore in recent drops but you can still find a few online.

The heroin lee yankou twin is a pretty close shape to the welcomes. Ive skated one of each and really liked both of them. Theyre also kinda hard to find now too and not cheap but still a good alternative. 14 in. Wheelbase tho not 14.25.

The 8.6 is super fun, just know it measures 8.6 only in the middle, egg-like.

Night and day compared to the Welcome. Welcome is wide all the way through and full, on the mellow side and flexi. Creature is tapered/pointy, steep and stiff. If you are not a fan of the NHS pointy shapes you might not like it (the other twins, like the 8.25" McCoy VX and Asp are more full). Easy way to tell: the twins that are 8.2/8.4/8.6 are pointy, anything with a .25' isn't.

Also, hated that 8.25 ishod, it's just not for me, that longer WB and short kicks don't vibe...apparently I prefer the opposite.

*EDIT: forgot to add that if you can't find a Welcome twin in 8.5, maybe see if you can step on the 8.5 Toy Machine twin (bury the hatchet graphic).

Picked these up for sale, Cluth X8 shape measures 8.38 x 32.125 x 14.25. Graphics aside I'm hyped to skate something shorter (Habitat / AWS for a long time) and I've like the crispness of Clutch decks.

Time to breakout the shoebox of stickers.

The dimensions sound perfect...! I had no idea this board existed. What is the shape/fullness of the nose/tail like?

Slight taper but nothing too crazy, signature Clutch steepness across the middle.

Hyped to skate this, Clutch didn't have some crazy long dims which is a nice change from the Habitat / AWS twins.

Twins available in 8.0 and 8.25 also, thankfully the graphics are less egregious. 8.0 x 31.4 and 8.25 x 31.8 according to SWH.

Looks good. Weirdly I prefer that graphic to the others. Daewon is a total OG too so I could tolerate.

I’ve just had the first day on the 8.25 primitive twin nose (which doesn’t look too dissimilar) - I much preferred it to the 8.25 ishod twin tail (not the standard 8.3 shape) which felt a bit too stubby. I couldn’t control my nose manual as easily without the extra flat past the bolts.

Hey Pals,

looking for blank twins. Currently skating the foy twin  8.5 and really loving that shape. Is there anything similar shape wise? Because it’s a pain in the a** finding the foy twin in Germany/europe…. And it’s 100€ so there’s that….

These are probably the closest thing to what you're looking for:

https://firstskateshop.com/products/twin-tail-blank-deck?variant=40454106873898

I've skated one before and I believe @Easy Slider has had multiple. They are good, cheap decks.

Thank You discounted a bunch of decks, good if you're into Clutch wood which is pretty rare these days, and they have the elusive X mold (twin).

Stacks with VIP20 for 20% off your order.

Edit: graphics aren't great but we finally have a use for the box of stickers we never get round to using.

X-post from the sale gear thread.

First session on the Clutch X8 shape, nice stiffness but the tips are pretty tapered, not comically like Tom Asta's old shape, but enough to traditional full nose.

Only had time to roll around, some flat flips, etc.

Coming off the 8.25 Ishod (which I hated...long WB/stubby kicks...but the easy rider is comfy flat), this feels more like a smaller Foy Twin, def NOT a twin TAIL, it's more twin nose - kicks are around 6.75". Not square, not full, not tapered, just a bit pointy sort of like the OG  baker 8.25s (nothing like the 8.25 Foy twim which is more full).

Made in China, feels stiff.

Speaking of Ishod, as my shop blank 8.25 twin is chipping ever more badly I pulled the trigger on this beauty.

Have that same deck but 8.5. First twin tail and first real deck. Digging it a lot.
quit beers. picked up a board. now I damage the outside of my body

Ive has both the 8.25 and 8.5 ishods, but its been a while and i cant remember, is the 8.5 a different shape? If it has more full/rounder kicks i might get one, ive got some thunder 149s laying around. I didn't like the 8.25 shape very much.

The 8.25 is a little shorter both in total length and in wheelbase (31.8" vs. 32.2" and 14.33" vs. 14.5") and the kicks feel a little fuller due to the extra width. I personally like the 8.5 much better because it's a tank.

They feel fuller because of the added width but the shape is designed differently too. The 8.5's kicks look like geometrically perfect half circles, each joined by arrow straight rails, same goes for the 8.75 when it's around. The 8.3 and smaller sizes have more of a subtle taper.

The measures mostly go up incrementaly for WB and length across the range, but curiously the 8.25 has longer tails than the 8.3.

What trucks yall using with the 8.5? Ive been a thunder guy for a while and liked them the first time i had them on this shape, but might get some hollow venture 5.8s to try since the wheelbase is long.

Completely depends on how you like your board to feel. The 8.5 has a long wheelbase to begin with, and Ventures will extend it the most out of all the regular trucks. I personally love that combination because it offers unmatched stability. Other people can barely 180 on my setup though because they're so used to 14" wheelbase decks paired with Aces (which shorten the wheelbase the most). If you like your set up to feel stable, go for the Ventures. If you like it more on the nimble side, other trucks will serve you better.

What's up with the 8.375 decks? Seems a weirdly specific width that's common for twin tails. Are those all coming out of the same shop?

It's common not only for twins, .375 is just 3/8 translated into decimals. It's right in the middle between 8.25 and 8.5.

On that note, the Ishod 8.3 is often listed as 8.375 but it's not, it's actually really 8.3.
