Local just got one of the Nicole 8.25 twins in and it has a blunt shovel nose... FYI very wide, not pointy AT ALL

I also agree about Welcome... I am pissed welcome never re-upped their evil twin series, I really liked the 8.0" it was damn near perfect for me...

Same. They were, dare I say, perfect shape-wise. Primitive 8.5 can hang tho, even with a short WB...wood just feels heavy.

With the majority of twins being shorter WB options are limited. I'm jumping on an 8.25 habitat twin next round after this baker 8.3 (such a weird shape/combo of dims)

Is the new Jacopo Baker twin, actually a twin?  My local got one in, and my buddy measured it and said it wasn't a true twin?

Mine was accurate and it feels like a twin/can't tell the difference when skating it. What isn't lining up for him?

It's just weird...8.38 with a long WB and these super short and very tapered kicks...TBH it looks like shit looking down on it until you get used to it. YMMV but I don't like it because the kicks are too short;  I prefer hybrids or twin noses vs twin tails.

My bad, he said it was a twin, however, the WB and length were shorter than advertised...

8.25 nicole twin came in. Definitely a twin nose type like others have said, much more square kicks than the ishod 8.5. Theyre also a bit steeper than the ishods so will see if its a big adjustment or not, either way it looks really nice. Pretty close to the primitive twin shape but keeps that steeper dlx concave as well.

Ok

my dumbass finds small/pointy nose/tails sexy to look down at. the og baker shapes/old toy machines, that pointy look, nice.

What is the true WB? Didn’t like that it was advertised as 14.5

Thinking of switching from a Thank You 8.5 twin to a Crailtap or HLC (Sk8Mafia) 8.5, anyone have any inputs? On Venture 5.8 Ti forged with a shorter deck, past few decks have been Habitat / AWS Twins (boat sized length) and a Thank You. Unsure about Crailtap decks, friends boards I've tried feel overly stiff.

Tried the ishod twin tail in an 8 and hated it. Kicks are too small and kinda steep. Ventures made the kicks feel shorter and thunders made the board feel too short. I like the easy rider 8.06 more. Longer mellow kicks.

Anyone else seen or skated the Real Nicole twins yet?

Thinking that double nose, or at least longer kicks would make things a little easier for some people.

I wanted to but the wb is tiny. Maybe that's what i need but I'm still kind of bitter at the DBX deck haha.

Yeah definitely shorter wheelbase / shorter boards in general, on the 8 especially.

Did I miss something with the DBX deck?  Looked back through history and didn't see anything...

Not a worry in this thread though.

While we wait for the Primitive reload...

What is the consensus on the nose/tail shape of the Girl 8.25 G069?

I was really not digging the stubby shape of the 8.25 Ishod but the Primitive 8.25 works well for me.

I loved my G069, is supposed to be a "paddle" shape. An nose/tail hybrid.
Sir, I'm going to politely, but firmly, ask you and your common sense to leave this establishment.

Closer to the primitive than the stubby dlx for sure (I can't stand the dlx or quasi twins now).

Thanks, I was considering trying a Quasi twin after watching the Bobby D part, but hearing how pointy the tips are would be a nightmare for me.

Just got the skatedeluxe twin tail in 8.25.
The wheelbase isn't 14.25 but 14.33, just like the ishod 8.25. It's generally very similar to the dlx twin in terms of concave and fingers of flat.
It's symmetrical in terms of kick steepness and the kicks are almost exactly the same, with one being only 1mm longer. That should be good enough

There's a shiny sticker on top saying "Superply 100% canadian maple"

Reviving this question from a few years back - anyone ride a skatedeluxe twin recently? Know which woodshop their using and if the shape is more Ishod-twin or Crailtap-twin?

Edit: upcoming April Guy Mariano 8.25 Twin - https://www.skatewarehouse.com/April_Guy_Mariano_Cheetah_TWIN_Deck/descpage-APGTDK.html

If there’s still the shiny “superply” sticker on top then it’s a quarter distribution board. Dims sound like it. You can get the blanks for a bit cheaper though

This was the one I was looking at, no Superply sticker and dims don't match HLC or Quarter, but I'm always suspicious of retailer listings. Inoffensive graphic with some stickers and VAT is included which helps offset the cost make it an appealing option.

Edit - emailed skatedeluxe and while they couldn't give a specific name they did say they were made in Spain, my guess is HLC
