Quoted from the Non Skate Shoes Good for Skating thread:

He might have said that but his shoe is almost an exact copy of the Asics Top Seven, which was mentioned in this thread earlier.

It's even got that little notch at the back of the heel and the logo on the sole in the same place.

Not surprisingly that may be one of the only good shoes Osiris ever made.

That caswell was a sick one. I was getting shoes from them when those came out. They skated great.

maybe not by that exact model, but he was heavily influenced by the ZX line.
Wasn't Rowley's second shoe (the XLT) also reebok inspired?

Damn that is a sick comparison photo! Both classic shoes right there.

Quoting misself from another thread:

Main reference for the silas was the marathon tr range... Its kinda like a skateable low top of these (marathon tr mid):

The outdoor look was pretty sick imo.
I still have a pair of them in burgundy that I wear casually from time to time only because I dont want to destroy them skating...

cheers! I knew Skatan would chime in as the resident Adidas head. There's an old vid out there of when Silas was designing the shoe and went to the HQ in Germany and was sifting through some boxes. I always thought it was a ZX model but there you go...
I miss the Silas' and those black ZX's dearly...

The dunks look a lot like AF1. I’ve seen people skate in them.

Bruce Kilgore designed the AF1.
Bruce Kilgore and Peter Moore designed the AJ1.
Peter Moore designed the Dunk.

The Dunk and the AJ1 have the same outsole pattern (now the SB's have an updated version), both of which closely resemble the pattern on the AF1.

"Originally sketched by designer Peter Moore and called the College Color High, the Nike Dunk was an artistic mash-up of different shoes, a common design practice at Nike for ‘80s basketball shoes." https://news.nike.com/news/inside-access-the-iconic-nike-dunk-turns-30

The AJ1 and the Dunk have much better "court feel," or "board feel" in our case. The dunk (SB's at least) is noticeably more narrow in the midfoot which I like.

I miss this thread but I can't think of anything groundbreaking to bump it with so here is an obvious choice. This one influenced a bunch of skate shoes and other shoes as well.

Adidas Stan Smith (which itself was re-marketing of the Robert Haillet pro model)

I can't find a good image of the first Gavin pro model but here is the DVS Gavin 2:

The Circa CM901 has the exact same eyestay design of the Adidas Ozweego from 98, even down to those rope loops...

These are two of the worst shoes I have ever seen.

I didn't bother doing any research on the dates of these releases, but what I gather is everyone just wanted Savier to still exist.

lucky you, I had them in black cream (with the cream toecap) and they were some of the illest shoes I’ve ever rocked. Lots of hidden tech too
