i think its more about the failing upwards shtick that he presents on the nine club combined with his appreciation of golf, kayaking, and having travel as a hobby (which i am also guilty of).  as i said above i do think a lot of it is shtick but i dont care i love it.  dude cracks me up on the show and is able to sneak in some pretty interesting points.

Yes.  He talks about it in one of the first Nine Clubs.  He says he basically couldn’t walk had pain just doing anything.  He says he would have to lay down in a car while his girl at the time would take him to doctors appointments trying to get the issue resolved.  Apparently it took quite some time to get it worked out. 

He definitely got fucked by Pretty Sweet taking so long to come out.  A lot of people on those companies seemed like they did when the final edit came out, and had their shit condensed to a few tricks. 

Going back and rewatching his footage he had some quality stuff.  But yeah he does come off as a spacey, lack of any general knowledge type of guy on the nine club, but it’s entertaining to me.   Seems like a genuinely nice guy too, just kind of out of it as far as anything outside of his fort building, kayaking, healthy living bubble.

I kinda meant that in the sense that he could do whatever he wanted on a board, if he thought it he could land it kinda thing. It also speaks to his ability that he never got hurt once his whole career. He was on some ninja shit.
