Was watching a Nuge part recently where he did a fakie hardflip to switch manual on a picnic table and it took me by surprise because he's not known to be the most tech dude and that's a pretty fucked manual trick to do, especially on a table.

That got me to thinking, what are some other tricks that other pros have done that you would've never expected from them?
Rodney Mullen kickflipping that like 10 or 11 stair comes to mind too (will edit in the youtube link later, my fifteen minute break is just about up and I need to get back to work hah)

I remember an interview with Gareth Stehr where he said Diego Bucchieri could skate tech as fuck and it surprised him. Something like he was casually busting out switch lasers and then getting angry that they weren’t clean enough.

Gareth was making a point about a lot of pros can skate a different way than their companies portray them

Fuck, that is seriously so sick.

Also, most people probably didn't expect Frank Gerwer to be the one to blow Wallenberg open, but he goddamn did.

I feel like I've seen Reynolds do fakie nosegrind sw fs flip out on some school yard benches. Or something really tech like that, in a line too. Can't remember where I saw it.

Biebels bs 360 in fully flared

Is it in the credits of Fully Flared where Biebel does the wallride and Jerry Hsu turns to the camera and looks super confused?

Lots of great examples/answers in this thread. I’m really bad at remembering stuff. And I never remember who did what, where. A manual from tyshawn doesn’t stick out to me.
I don’t see a lot of regular stance flip tricks from AVE.
That two Biebel examples are so good, and an example of why he used to seem so love able

Josh Kasper doing kickflip back tails and fs shuv nose grind fs shuv out on ledges in that weird part where he also hardflips the Carlsbad gap.

Ronnie Creager benihanas

Also Daewon doing the jump ramp flyout finger flip thingy in that Big Brother part to greatest love of all. Makes more sense now that he has revealed himself to be just as good at tranny as at tech but at that time it blew my mind.

To add to the Reynolds tricks, when he did the noseslide 270 shuv on that giant white ledge off the La Canada 11 set in Stay Gold, I was surprised and stoked how good it looked.

I watched the vertical vampire and his similarly aged vert/pool/transition gnarlers on creature play a game of SKATE back in 2005 or 06. I was shocked to see switch and nollie flip come into play.

Ryan Gallant kickflip back noseblunt clipper was out of nowhere. Sure he had them on lock on small ledges but to come out of retirement in his 30s and throw that down clipper was against the laws of nature.

And the f/s wallride in NYC, and the b/s tailslide heelflip out...he's got a lot of surprises.

I was surprised by Richard Angelides' vert footage in his Hiatus part. It's always so cool to see "street pros" skate vert or big transition, like Zered at the end of Vicious Cycle.

I remember an interview with Gareth Stehr where he said Diego Bucchieri could skate tech as fuck and it surprised him. Something like he was casually busting out switch lasers and then getting angry that they weren’t clean enough.

Bucchieri got 3rd place in an eS game of skate way back, I believe. He had a sequence of a blindfolded switch double flip.

Darren had an ad wayyyy back in the day front lipping a ten stair rail. It's a sick photo he has a shaved head and is wearing a black coat. There was a plastic skull sitting on the stairs if I recall

I think it‘s in his Part not in the credits.
