I know everyone says shoe size doesn’t matter but I have a secret hunch that it kind of does (there’s just no concrete rules and always outliers). Is there any way people could post their shoe size as well with their setups? I’d be interested to know if there’s a pattern. Or not, I could totally go fuck myself.

I'm a 10 in nearly everything and I usually ride 8.38-8.5. I been thinking about going 8.25 for the next one I buy though, but that's because my ankle makes it a little tough to flip the board sometimes.
[close]
Wow this is my exact situation. I have similar ankle issues to you broken left ankle and that’s my flicking foot. I’m a size 11 skating 8.38-8.5 and I wanted to size down as well to 8.18 or 8.25. But then I look at Kader or t funk and wonder if I’m just being a pussy. when I watch people like sewa, Ron Waley or kechaud with big feet skating small boards it looks weird for some reason. Do you have metal in your ankle? Is it more the range of motion that is affecting you or the pain when flicking? It sounds kooky but swimming has really done wonders for building back my ankle muscle. I was told when you are in a cast the small muscles weaken and when coming back the large ones like your calf will over compensate and all the small ankle muscles never get used enough to grow stronger again. So you gotta work on activating them again somehow with a resistance band or swimming.
Yeah I've got a plate and seven screws in it. It's really just the range of motion/weakness for me. I do bike a lot but I'll definitely try to swim more. That's honestly probably the reason why every single kickflip I land is mobbed to hell.

Is it just the picture or is your tail actually a mile long? 8.28 sounds like a beautiful size

My last board was Primitive 8.25 and this shape is almost identical to it, just a slightly steeper nose and man, I’ve fell in love with this shape. Nice, long kicks and short wheelbase 8)

I can’t speak on how they compare to F4’s ( never had a set) but these are the perfect wheel for me based on formula and shape. They aren’t super hard but slide well.

Do the Real regular 8.38’s (not full) have a wider nose than antihero and Krooked?  I got a Krooked 8.38” that seemed too tapered.  The 8.38” full I had was TOO wide.  Now I’m on a Krooked 8.25” full.

To my knowledge, all the dlx shapes transfer across the board.
Although you never see a real 8.28 or antihero ishod twin shape.
But essentially 8.25 in all 3 brands should be the same.
But also consider that boards are hand shaped and sanded, could easily getonce slightly more than the others.

I typically skate the full shapes and this 8.38 seems about the same. Not too far of from the AntiHero 8.38 I had either. It’s maybe not as square as the actual Full shapes but I don’t think it tapers as much as your krooked did. I was actually looking at a krooked deck j the shop before I bought the Real and while the dimensions were the same, I could see how the Krooked shape might be a little more on the tapered side. I don’t know for sure though, you could probably found out if you ask in the DLX shapes thread

Ditched the Hockey already because I hated the steep nose and tail and the quality is gutter trash. Chipped on it's first impact with something hard and paint is flaking off.

Got a Polar 8.5- what companies have a similar shape with the large nose, sorta pointy tail, moderate wheelbase?  I think it is 8.5x32x14.5

Why don't you just keep skating the Polar 8.5's?  I'm on my second and they're really durable.
