It’s probably not too late to put it back.  Sometimes it’s better to let go with love.

I absolutely love the fly fishing sticker on your board.  I just looked at the Facebook page, and there were some beautiful trout on there.  None of the wild trout here in Maryland get that nice.

Did you read the article where they’re finding sturgeon in and around the Chesapeake again? I’m pretty hyped the water ways are cleaning up a bit. It used tk suck going to the inner harbor as a kid seeing more trash floating than you could see water.

No I hadn’t heard that.  That’s amazing though.  They’ve been working hard on conservation and pollution control.  I live in Fells Point and regularly see the Mr.Trash Wheels at work.  I heard it will be safe to swim in the Inner Harbor by 2020-something.

i don't want to create a new thread just to ask this and i couldn't think of any other thread that would be adequate.

so, i got a shaped deck and i'm wondering if the tail would affect tricks like 360 flips, bigspins etc as the tail is kinda square. of course i could just try to skate it and find out myself, but if it would make these tricks harder, then i'd rather sell it brand new than skate it once and put it away. did any of you guys skate a deck with a similar tail? how was the experience?

this is the exact shape, it's 8.625 with a 14.25 wheelbase so the dimensions are fine for me.

I saw a guy 360 flip an actual shovel so you should be ok. That doesn't look that shaped.

I'm skating a full board at the moment, and I feel like it actually helps cause you have more surface area to scoop.
So I would not worry at all, in fact I think it might be beneficial.

Surprisingly they do. They were the bearings I got on my first ever complete and I decided to go back to them cause I remember liking them.

For me I don't really think it makes things harder. I feel like the squarish shape gives you an actual corner to feel which helps with 360 flips and back 360s. I love doing 360 flips and back 360s on my cruiser, which is a 9.0 shaped theories set up. I really like how quasi's are often squarish for the same reason when skating my regular set up too.

I had a couple of shaped decks (the first Polar P1's) many years ago that I was nervous to give a try for the same reasons as yours pretty much, it did turn out to feel funny and weird seeing what looked like a different object under my feet after all those years of skating traditional popsicles but not in a bad way, and it certainly didn't affect my tricks. Those modern shaped boards are just that, shaped, the outline is different but the nose and tail are equally functional. As other people already brought up, the extra surface might actually help you for tricks that require a scoop. This local kid here who always has to look fancy to try and pathetically fail at reigning as our no-name skatepark hero has been skating nothing but Santa Cruz reissues for a few decks now, and somehow he's actually gotten better on those than on regular street decks although I'm pretty sure those are actually less functional than modern shaped decks, it's just that now everything he does looks like it's Bart Simpson who's doing it (which is fine because Bart has better style than him).

I enjoyed the experience for a few months but then I did also enjoy going back to popsicles after that and never going back.

I had a Welcome a few years ago with a square shaped tail and I actually had a hard time on it with 360 flips/Impossibles. It felt like I had to put in extra effort to get it scooped well, but it could've been another factor or all in my head and your results may vary.
