This has me cracking up, what exactly does Black Flag have to do with measuring your dick starting behind ya nuts?

Skateboarding is nothing but a game to find the right fits to appear like you're a proportional human being instead of a midget or a giant.

I don't normally like (non-orange) colored wheels, but they go on that setup for sure. Looks great.

9.8" at its widest. 9.5 at the front truck and about 8.75" at the back truck. I think 151/161s or 159/169s could also work on it.

wheelbase is 14.38" Nose and Tail are the same length at 6.75"

Hell yeah, that shape is sick. Checked it out at a shop last week but it was already spoken for and they only had the one in stock. Hope you enjoy it, it definitely looks like a lot of fun!

Based on what I've read, the stuff I like to skate, and my height, I'm trying to piece together info to create an ideal setup.

It'll be -
  • Purchased from a local skateshop
  • A pro model of a pro I'm a fan of
  • 8 x 31.5 with a 14-inch wheelbase
  • South Central/Pennswood/PS Stix wood
  • Bones Swiss bearings
  • Bones hardware
  • Jessup Ultragrip or plain black Grizzly
  • Ace 33s with stock bushings
  • white Spitfire F4s 51-53mm

I guess the hard part's going to be finding a pro model of a pro I like with those exact specs.

Real full SE 8.06 has a 14 inch wheelbase and is 31.5.
Best wood you can get.
Shapes a little mellow but I ran a few in a row this year and I have one gripped and ready to go

Edit - saw bbs wasn’t in that woodshop list.

This is my small/low tech setup.

Deck: Quasi Happiness 8.0” x 32.375”, 14.25” WB
Grip: MOB
Trucks: Thunder Hollow Lights II 147s
Bushings: Bones Hardcore Mediums
Wheels: Bones STF V1 in 52mm (103A)
Bearings: Bones Reds (Shieldless)
Hardware: Shorty’s Silverados (7/8, Allen)
Shoes: Emerica Reynolds Vulc Low (Size 12)

I’d prefer a width of 8.125” but Quasi’s are only 31.75” long with a wheelbase of 14.125” and a much shorter tail. That’s a little too short for me and the shape doesn’t work well with long WB trucks like Thunders where the 8.0 is a dream with them.

Thunder 147s are lower than the 148s by 2cm so I ordered some Dooks 1/16 Silencers to gain another 1.5cm.  It’s a small difference but I’ll notice it.  I’d really prefer the hard 1/16 Dooks Risers but I can’t find them in the USA... I’m a little worried about this foam shit but it’s worth a shot for $2.99.  1/8 risers are too big for what I want.

I love how the Bones Hardcore Mediums feel but on a low setup they’re a bit soft.  I have some Hards coming in the mail.  Hopefully I like them better otherwise I’ll try Hard on the bottom and Medium on top.  If I don’t like that I’ll just stick with the Mediums.

It’s also about to snow this week so I ordered some Spitfire F4 Radial Slims in 99a (52mm) for indoor parks.  I’ll probably throw some Bones Swiss or Swiss 6 in them if I don’t try those Bones Big Ball Reds.  It’s an indoor wheel so they won’t get dirty easily but I might give them a try.  I usually ride cheaper bearings since I skate a lot of crusty street spots and hate cleaning them.

Scumco (Pennswood) fits those deck dimensions at least for the Downey I’m riding at the moment iirc

Stock bushings on both?  Bones Hardcores help both of them a lot.  Ventures you sometimes have to sand the top of the bushing down though, the fitment is a little odd.  I used to exclusively ride Ventures back in the day but I switched to Thunders on my techier setups and Indies on bigger/heshier setups (Aces if I ever buy a cruiser).  I like the longer base plate on Ventures more but Thunders turn sooo much better.  I also like how Thunders grind a lot better (other than nose/tail slides and blunts), especially Crooks, and the fact that there are more options for aftermarket bushings.  Thunders sort of force you to ride harder/smaller wheels for nice feeling nose/tail slides and blunts.

Btw 99a or 101a Conical Fulls?  I'm trying to find some 54mm 99as for my crust buster but they're sold out everywhere... it sucks.  Dig the setup though, definitely something I could see myself riding.  I just personally prefer Indies when I ride wide boards and wheels 54mm+.

I’m weary of aftermarket bushings and stuff but I’ll consider the advice. Thanks!

Yeah crooks felt way off on the ventures. The triangle shape of the hanger felt harsh and it was hard to get a consistent lock. It’s feeling a bit better now with a groove forming.

The spits are 99a. I got them a while back before the spitfire shortage. I grabbed a pair of 55 lock-ins today and the shop worker confirmed a factory shortage but said they’ll be restocked soon!

Sick toes homie.  Would tickle.
When nothing in society deserves respect, we should fashion for ourselves in solitude new silent loyalties.
