I didn't vibe with the G052 chocolate deck and gave it to a homie who is on Venture's. Something felt really off for me with that deck. Tail too long, nose too short, wheelbase too short and the taper toward the tail.

New one today. I am hyped. It skates really well.

Magenta 8.23 x 31.85 with a 14.2 wheelbase
Indy 144 Tits
Spitfire Conical 52s 99a
Blurs Bearings
Magenta Bolts
Jessup

Yeah I seriously hated that deck. I will typically skate anything until it’s beyond repair but I gave up on that one after a handful of sessions.

New new looks good!

For now:
8.25 eagle
Thunder 148 titanium lights
53mm F4 classics
Swiss ceramics

I just measured this one and another one I have. They might not be a perfect 8.25, but they’re a hair under 8.3. Too small of a variance to ever notice. I measured a Limo 8.38 that I have for comparison. That one sits at 8.38ish. Unfortunately I can’t say anything about the blue eagle. I haven’t skated a board that big for a “normal” setup in over a decade

The DLX Shapes thread has a lot more info on those boards too, but from the literally hundreds (from working / being in skateshops) in general DLX 8.25 shape boards are wider than normal 8.25s and almost straight through the rail / middle from front to back bolts, the 8.38 is almost 8.5 in width also straight through the rail (with a longer wheelbase) but the 8.5 shorter 14.25 wb, as per the blue eagle deck, tapers significantly from just on 8.5 at the shoulder down to around 8.25 at the rear bolts.  There has also been talk of the blue eagle being significantly smaller overall than the dimensions listed, so make of that what you will.  If you can go in somewhere to check, you would be able to compare them, but if not, then get whatever size you prefer, given all of them are fairly close, but still quite different.

So to summarise the DLX shapes / coloured eagles:

grey eagle - 8.25 x 32 with 14.38 wb  * wider
green eagle - 8.38 x 32.25 with 14.5 wb  * wider
blue eagle - 8.5 x 31.85 with 14.25 wb  * not as wide and tapers

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

sahweet.  I really didnt think I was gonna like this deck since I have been skating boards with bigger/wider noses, but man, it's been working out pretty well.  Mine is a roman numeral I, and I'm digging the concave as well.

The blue eagle is 8 1/2" (8.5") over the front and 8 3/8" (8.375") over the rear

Hyped to skate this eventually. Taking another week off due to knee issues. Was skating the Huffer shape before and always said a scaled down version would be perfect. Not entirely the same, but the fact it’s a little shorter is appealing.

Specs:
Krked Alternated Moonsmile 9.1 X 32, 14.5 WB
Pepper G5 Grip
Thunder 151 (or whatever the 8.75 axels are)
Mix of Swiss, 6 ball Swiss and g3 Bronson bearings. They beat so eventually gonna be Quantum metallics.
Drkrm 99a 56 mm. Kind of hate these but wanted to try the size out for cheap.

Itching to skate tho, taking at least another weak off. Specs:

Krked 9.1 x 32, 14.5 WB
Pepper Grip (non slip as my dad calls it)
Thunder 151’s
Mix of shot bearings. Gonna upgrade to some Quantum metallics eventually.
56 mm 99a drkrm wheels. Wanted to try the size for cheap but not fond of these.
1/8th risers (I think)

Don’t mean to turn this into a DLX thread, but how’s the 8.25 eagle on 149s? Thinking about sizing down from the navy.

You didn't ask me but I should mention after spending a lot of time on 8.25 DLX decks, they skate like a bigger board imo. The ones I've had in the past couple years felt noticeably steeper (even on roman numeral 3/4, which made the pop feel heavier with the 14.38 wheelbase). I liked it a lot on Ace classics since it made it feel more manageable but still felt heavy overall.
