I've been playing around with different sizing for the better part of the last year since I got back on the board after 10 or so years off (closer to 20 since I was super serious). The 8.38" with a 14.5 wheelbase feels like a winner (I'm 6'2", size 11 shoe), and I think the tricks will start coming back pretty quick. Now if I could just find shoes that feel right!

Krooked Cromer, Ace AF1 55, Spitfire F4 53mm full conical, Bones Reds, Shortys 1" hardware

The Ace's fit the board exactly how I like it - my winning combo in the early 00's was a 7.88" girl/chocolate on 8" destructos (don't hate it was a different time!) and this feels similar at scale.

I swapped to ace 55s on my anti-hero 8.38/14.5 and I can agree, it just really suits the deck size well.

Pretty much a perfect fit right? I feel like the af1’s are undersized a bit - BA did a setup deep dive on the nine club and he’s skating 77’s on his 9” setup.

I just bought the Gold Heroin Symmetrical Egg 9x31.8 a couple of weeks ago. I decided to grab the 8.75x32 from my local yesterday as a backup. I also swapped out my Venture 6.1 Regular Kaders for 6.1 V-Hollow with Bones medium bushings. I picked up the wheels a couple of weeks back from my local, Spitfire F4 Conical 97. I'm running Bones Swiss Ceramic and Ace hollow hardware.

Just got this board to replace my G052 Chocolate. I'll be switching out the bushings on these trucks for some broken-in bushings I had on my 148s. After a quick test drive in my garage, I noticed is the GX board doesn't feel as low with these trucks as the Chocolate did.

Can you comment on the concave, and also the steepness of the tail? Concave looks to be mellow from the pics. The reason I ask is because I’m loving my extremely mellow concave ps stix deck, and think it’s helping an ankle injury just because it’s so cozy to land on. I’d love to grab one of those especially if it’s mellow

Is that a BBS or PS?  Are the nose and tail pretty square on there, or are they more round?  Nice looking setup.

Thanks! It's a BBS deck. The GX website lists this exact model with 14.25" wheelbase but it's in fact 14.5". The nose and tail are round/full. The nose measures 7" and the tail is 6.625"

I have 53 mm F4’s here and not sure if I should use them or buy 51‘s

I was ok with 53s on venture los. Much less wheelbite for me than 53s on thunders.

Wanted to quote that actually and ask that question:

8" Habitat BBS wood . 14" WB , 31.5"
Venture 5.2 low Lights, 52mm F4 OG Classic 99du.
bones swiss, bronze hardware , jessup grip

this is shaped like old Habitat/AWS boards, similar to what FA shapes are now, squared off big nose, pretty fat tail, steepish kicks and concave.

pretty much my perfect board.

just purchased some venture 5.2 Hollow Lights Hi's. not sure if I'll actually make the switch from lows , wheel bite has been getting me with the newer 52mm wheels. need to get these down to 50's and we'll be in business.

They're new trucks. I have a separate set of Thunders for the Chocolate board. Not pictured but I ended up swapping bushings because I like the feel of the broken-in bushings.
