How is the 5Boro? I just spent a week in NYC and sort of regret not picking up a board.

I think the P2 got caught up in the polar shape updates, I couldn't get that thing to flip over. Now I'm back to my comfort setup.

You should, they're great.  My only regret is not buying up more of the Krux DLKs before they changed the design to be more like the Indy IKPs.

Nice!

Sitting on the same stack of boards here including a couple more of the Tanner and a few of these white ovals.

Was that the blue oval 8.5 you were talking about?  Interesting but at least now you know what the shorter shape feels like as well.  Some people love them, but some prefer the longer 8.38 (which is wider through the back end anyway).

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

well shit, it seems like i'm becoming a wheelbase guy. This deck pretty much has identical dimensions to the BBS blanks i've been riding, except the wheelbase here is 14.3 instead of 14.6, and my flip tricks feel so much easier!
Enjoi 8.6" Enzo bought during the holiday clearances, which i sanded and sprayed
Ace AF1 Low hollow 60s
Spitfire F4 50mm 99a lil smokies classics
Quantums
Acer titanium hardware (will probably need to get some new nyloc for the next use)
generic free grip, might be jessup?

yeah it was that blue one! it was really good for slides and grinds but I really didn't like the wheelbase.

I think the 8.38 Tanner is the same shape as the white oval OG logo

What is your technique for sanding and spraying exactly?  You use a belt sander, then what kind of spray paint should I use?

I have a palm sander, so I first used a pretty coarse disc, then went to a medium-fine, and finished it off with an ultra-fine/polish disc. I originally set out to get it to the blank stain, but there were still some spots of the graphic here and there so i decided to just cover it all up with the spray. I just used whatever was laying around, an all-purpose white gloss. Honestly sanding the deck kinda sucked and it didn't come out close to perfect. Not sure I'd do it again unless I really love the board and really hate the graphic

I've sanded decks and it is pretty easy. You don't need super coarse: 80 to 100 grit works well. Get the graphic off (the discs will likely need to be cleaned a few times), then hit with like 180-240. Definitely put a poly clear over whatever color you spray.

My dirty carpet and I are back again with another one.
Tactics 9.125” shaped board, I drilled the nose holes back 3/4” so that the nose is slightly bigger than the tail, I think the wheelbase is like 13 3/4” now. I might’ve drilled it too far back but fuck it we’ll see how it goes.
Mini logo trucks and nano cubics, I’ve been skating this combo for about a month now and I really dig em. The mini logos turn great for how low they are and seem to barely wheelbite. I’m not into how little kingpin clearance there is on these though, they also don’t look cool. With the nano cubics on there they’re just under 8.5” which is slightly undersized for this board, but last time I skated this shape I was hotrodding pretty bad so I’m okay with that. I’ve already written a novella about why I like the nano cubics in The Wheels Thread so I’ll save you the details.
Mini logo bearings, they’re as good if not better than reds and almost half the price.
Tactics shop grip, random assorted 7/8” hardware

Antihero Brian Anderson Toasted 9.25" x 32.25". Listed 14.43" wheelbase but I measured 14.38".
Independent 159 with hollow axle and Indy 92a barrel bushings.
Spitfire F4 Radial Full 58mm 97a
Quantum Atom Bearings
Indy 1" hardware
MOB
Thunder 1/8" risers

Debated putting black rails on this but then realized I don't want to deal with bending the rails to the shape of the board and the installation.

Damn, this setup looks fine. Is that a blue and orange top stain? Or did you paint it orange yourself? Looks hella cool.
