Hey how's that shape treating you? Been thinking about trying it out for a long while now. Think I need a bit shorter deck than the usual 32" for a change.

Thanks! Sounds great, a good all around aspect is exactly what I'm always looking for in a deck. Will try one for sure.

There 8.25 14.5 WB 7 1/8" nose 6 7/8" tail
Thunder 148 standard
Spitfire radial full 99a 56mm
Bronze 7/8 allen
Jessup ultra

I was worried about the long wb + big wheels + thunder combo but had a great session with it. Gotta work harder for tricks but pop feels great and enjoying the stability when going fast. Cast thunder and big wheels make for a good pinch

The graphic on that There deck is really cool. It reminds me of a John Wesley painting in the best way possible.

Had a Powell Old Man deck I got for $35 in storage. Made in China and flat as hell, but I figured it was a chance to try sizing up for cheap. The blue Thunder bushings look fly with the blue in the graphic.

Powell 8.75
Thunder 161
Bones Red
Dragon 54mm
Pepper grip
that would be crazy if your skin was made of hammers.

cracked tail, tiny coned wheels, dusty bearings, and a curiosity for the new Thunders brought me here

Orchard/Anti Hero 8.25
148 Thunder T2
Bones Swiss
53mm 93a classics

Rotating between 440's and 600's

I like how loose the new Thunders are. I hate how my board doesn't feel like my board. That could also be a case of different shape, and going from wheels that are in the low 40's to new 53's with slightly higher trucks. I'll give it a week or two before deciding to swap back to my normal Thunders or not

Sick setup. Looks great! Yeah, that K21 concave they use on that deck is the longer wheelbase version of the K20 concave. That’s why it feels so flat. It’s a really mellow mold. I’ve got a Mini Logo 7.75” with that K20 mold and it feels so good under foot.
What's going on over at https://skate2junkies.proboards.com/ ???

Nice setup!

This is what I was planning on putting together when my DBX  snaps or razor tails, with the exception of Conical Fulls and Jet Pack hardware.

Is there a reason for people rather listing the hardware than the griptape, when hardware is the least important part when it comes to performance?
Or is it just unintentional?

I love a flatter, mellower deck. The Powell stuff might be a good fit for me given the longer WBs (which I also like). I like Crail shapes a lot but they top out at like, 14.25 and that’s just at the edge of long enough for me.

Anti Hero 9”x33.25” 15” WB
Slappy 9.5” W/ 95a Slappy Bushings
56mm Bones x97 v6
Bones Swiss 6
Indy 7/8s hardware
Pepper grip

Trying some different things on this setup, first time with Slappys and straying from the usual formula 4 to try out some x formula wheels again.

I like my trucks wider than my deck but I think I may have gone too far here. Gonna try and skate it for a bit longer but I could see myself putting some 169s on it.

Sick one. Give it a solid go with the big trucks.. BA rides 77s on a 9”. Been tempted myself. Are you a bigger person?

For me up to 1/2 inch wider is fine. After all it is just 6mm overhanging which is basically only the nut.
Though I prefer them to be 1/4 inch wider or flush.

If you are not on the tall side (15" WB and hard bushings) you could do something like I did to the trucks of this setup:

Antihero Blue Meanie 8.75" 14.75" WB
Venture 6.1 V-Hollow Lights (V8tified, Thunder 100A bushings)
Spitfire 93 Radials 56mm
Independent GP-B Bearings
Santa Cruz Rails
Mob Grip

As for the V8tified part. I just put the baseplates base to base flipped 180° in a vise and used the holes of the upper one as guidance to drill the lower one. Really just gives you perfectly symmetrical additional holes.

should work perfectly fine with slappys as well.

Or you just go be a mega ramp skater... ;D

Nice! Looks like those DIY V8s brought in the WB quite a bit. Did you measure it?

Nice! Looks like those DIY V8s brought in the WB quite a bit. Did you measure it?

I measured 12.5mm offset. Which would come out to ~1/2 inch per truck, double of the original V8. So it takes the base wheelbase of the board from 14.75 to 13.75.
The result will definitely vary between truck models depending on baseplate length and relative hole positioning. I think Ventures should be the max offset you get by my DIY method.
