^ Looks good dude.  what kind of bushing setup do you have going?

They are bushings that a friend made.

Set this up recently... only have one day on it, but it is already my favorite deck I've skated:

Scumco 8.25
Ace 44 - replaced with Krux bushings (haven't skated yet), stock were absolute shit.
Formula 4 Classic - 52mm
Mob Grip

Instantly connected with the shape, best / most consistent grinds I've ever done.

Question do you guys. First, I've never had a baker or a deathwish before. Can anyone confirm if this is the coveted b16 shape?

https://shop.ccs.com/deathwish-deathspray-og-skateboard-deck-multi-8-475

Even if it's not, I really love this shape and I've never really put much stock in wheelbase before, but it has a much shorter wheelbase in the last when I was riding and I love it so much.  It's way easier to control flip tricks. Also this is the poppies/snappiest deck I've ever had. My ollies seem to float.

A dude had that exact board on the previous page so he should be able to verify

from the link..

Would you say, CCS gives you a, "Deathwish?"

was on the 8.06 deck with 147 trucks for about 7 years and saw this complete for $90 (classified thread) and decided to pull the trigger

8.38 krooked
149 Thunders with the 95 aftermarket bushings
53mm f4 reynold slims with bones swiss 6
shortys hardwear, phillips- so weird having non-allan bolts

went to test the size out last night after work and wasnt that bad. i thought it'd really throw me off moving up in size but i felt i was able to have more room when landing flip tricks.. i wanna skate this spot with a lot of ledges this weekend to really see how wider boards work for me.

im thinking i wanna try a 8.25 next.

They fit great on the DLX 8.25" which is actually more like an 8.35".

dude so jealous of that board!! i want one so bad, i saw that its got a 14 inch wheel base for a 8+ size dlx board which is rare for me to see on any dlx deck

even their 8.06 are usually like 14.25/14.38 WB :o

I used to likeshorter wheelbases, but I started getting this feeling like I'm going to just kick my foot off the nose on accident when I Ollie. So I've been trying to keep that range of 14.5" to 14.75"  with this one falling right in between those, and it's been working out.  I was on an 8.5 AH before that felt weird, and the wheelbase was pretty much why I think, but I thought maybe I just couldn't do wider boards, so i went back down to 8.25, but I have come to wanting my board as wide or wider than my trucks and I love 149s, so this move back up made sense and it has helped me get tres locked in again for the first time since I started skating again.

Once you find that sweet spot, everything else is hard to get comfy on, you can skate it but it never gels. my sweet spot is 14.35/14.38 WBs (powell, alien, Creature, REAL), with that WB width only bugs me if I skate something like an 8.125/8.18 in a bowl, I feel unstable (narrow trucks) but can skate any width on street and it fees dandy. It's just tough to find'em that size on boards shorter than 32" as most companies will stretch the length to accommodate the longer wheels bases to not sacrifice nose length.

I've been progressively riding larger and larger setups over the past year(just skated the polar pontus 1991 shape 9.25), until I realized outside of a few shoveits, my skating had digressed in more than one way. With my 43 bday looming I decided to set up something drastically smaller. Flipped all my old tricks with minimal struggle(icing my knee now).

I like those crook marks on the nose.  Something about the sight of a slightly skated board is just so much better than a brand new one.

It's like having perfect crisp shoes, I hate it.
Having a deck setup in new condition stresses me out.
And I did just set that up today and got a decent park session in.

After close to 3 years of not skating, I finally built a new set-up.  Got the parts over the course of a few days and skated it for the first time today for about 30 minutes around my neighborhood.

My shitty iPhone camera makes the trucks look like they protrude out more than they do.  They're basically flush with the deck when you're riding it and the stability feels great.  Popping 2 foot high kickflips after not riding for a few years feels so damn good that I think I'm getting addicted again.

I'm surprised at how well they perform right out of the box.  I could definitely go up at least one hardness to the orange and still be good with my turning, and with future set-ups with smaller wheels and no risers, that might be a necessity.  Definitely gonna pop 'em on the next cruiser I build though.
