I already cracked my new 7.75 and had a crappy day so I set this up to put a smile on my face. I couldn't land jack shit, Oh well.. heres a pic because DOA boards are nice.  :)
DOA 8.1
Venture 5.6
SF 52mm
Jessup
[close]

Nooooooo sorry to hear that.

7.75 is the size.

How'd it break ? What was it ?
[close]

7.75 is THE size, I concur.
I’m starting to believe that 7.75 on 5.0 is the way tho, and if it’s 8” trucks, I think I might do better with an 8.125. That ratio might be more important than the deck size.
Maybe.
[close]
It was an brand new Element that cracked pretty good. I landed both feet in the middle on a flat ground tre, and at almost 190 lbs. it didn't stand a chance. I had 139 indys on it and I have very little experience with anything but Ventures so everything was off.
I just got 5.0s as a present but they were Hi's so I sold them off. But I have 5.0 lo's coming tomorrow for when I set up my next 7.75. Also SneakyMcSecrets suggested that I try the indys on my 8.1 DOA that I wasn't jiving with, and I plan on trying that this weekend.

*edit* That means I will have peel that Venture sticker off, and that will hurt my heart deeply.

I skate 5.0 hi’s, infrequently. Should more often.

Yes you do HAVE to peel that venture sticker off before mounting Indy’s, holy fuck. Courting calamity by listening to sneaky secrets seductive suggestions

Possibly a better policy. Plus has to feel naughty.

Just so we are clear here, I’ve put 4 different sets of trucks on one deck before. The wheelbite markings are incredibly embarrassing/shameful.

wheels - spitfire classic 60mm
other - random bearings, shop grip, shop bolts

Quasi 8.75
Thunder lights 151
Spitfire Conical 56 (now maybe 53)
Reds
Nike SB Check Solar

Wheelbase feels weird but having pop feels so good. Shoes are fucking ass but fortunately they gonna be done soon.
Damn that deck looks so clean

The madness continues. Decide to set up something smaller and lighter than my 8.8” with 169 standards.

8.25 Clubhouse SB (local brand by a local woodshop)

I can almost guarantee that's a clutch deck. That's one of the stock stains they do. Was there a letter + number code on the top between the nose bolt holes?

Set this up because it’s a little smaller than my last deck but the length was a little weird to adjust to

8.0 primitive x S.P.o.T
5.6 venture ti with cast plates riptides and supercush bushings
53 radial slims
Bones Swiss 6

I really like this. What's the length and WB?

Feel like a dick setting up another board but the DOA experimental shape felt way of with the 14" WB and big nose. I ate shit more times in the past two days than I have in months. Taking it as a sign.

8.06 AH Eagle (14.38 WB)
Venture 5.2 Lo, 94 DLX supercush
Spitfire 50mm bigheads
Shoty's 7/8" allen/Jessup/minilogo

This board feels right. I like it. Also this my first set of non-F4s in ages and I am super into how they feel on shitty/crusty ground.

It's the most basic concept. Just print "REAL" on a board. Yet they managed to make it look like a 3rd grader designed these on an outdated version of powerpoint.

It’s Drifter

That seems really.... odd... that they're doing the exact same finishes as clutch. Like literally all of them in that picture are the same as the 2018 clutch catalog. Wonder if they're going the chapman route and just buying blanks and printing graphics?

They most likely just get their veneers from the same supplier. They come pre dyed. There’s only a handful of factories that make veneers for skateboards.

There’s not a lot of different people making skate specific materials, so unless your like dwindle and have your own cheap factory and can make proprietary shit, a lot of it is just different chefs cooking with the same ingredients

Drifter makes all his boards.  Presses them in a shop, behind his house, and paints/applies graphics in his garage.

And his decks are tough.  I skated one for three months.

Weird.. I know drifter definitely dyes at least some of their own boards and they're actually quite good at it, similar to Pennswood.

I wasn't super impressed with either of the drifter decks I've had but they were also really poor fits for me from a shape standpoint so I don't feel like that's a fair assessment of the quality of the deck. I've been considering getting another pet deck because I love short boards (and the first one I got turned out to not be one of the short ones despite what the shop I bought it from said) but I'm kind of scared that they're all going to be the same steep kick mold that my first one was. Also I'm a little weirded out by the other shit he sells.

Been feeling the madness BAD lately. Been through 8.25, 8.3, 8.5, 8.7 this past week and now trying 9. I loved the 8.7 so thinking this 9 is gonna be the go. I’m super short so we’ll see how this goes haha.

AH 9x33x15
169 with conical indy bushings
F4 55mm CF
Swiss
Mob
7/8”
Thinking about trying Bones Softs but not sure. Any opinions?

It depends how much you want to carve.

Bones softs are super carvy, but cranking them down all the way makes them mushroom and they won't feel like Bones mediums.

Ok

I been hurt for something like the last 4 months and today was the first time I’ve been able to skate

As you can imagine I did not want to fuck around

I don’t have a tool so I took this before I met my mates and put my shit together

Can’t do the picture why am I so regular

Polar oski football shape it’s symmetrical and like 8.75 at the widest point but I got 149 Indy titaniums on it and my shits flush. It’s got that pocket it tres like a mf and I got 99d conical 53s. I’ve only ever skated normal boards. This things the business
