Wanted to reduce the amount of money I spend on skateboarding so now I'm preferring local brands since foreign ones prices went up like crazy due to covid.
Sunrise boards are pretty good, Clutch I believe, but this particular one had a hideous graphic so I spray painted it.
8.5 x 32
WB: 14.17
Nose: 7
Tail: 6.53
[close]
Sweet mother of god I hate this boards. Too much concave and super steep kicks :(

Did someone say steep kicks and concave?!?
Which clutch shape is this? Thought of doing an 8.5 and these dims are similar to that of a smaller board, which is rad.

Been a long time since I've set up a new deck. Don't get to skate much and rarely break any of my gear. But the last two slams I had gave that deck a bad vibe, so I'm excited to set up something new for Spring.

8.25 Polar (the older 8.25 shape with the 14.25wb)
Thunder 149 (aftermarket blue bushings: 95a, I think)
F4 Radial Slims
Bones Swiss, Mob, Shortys

Love this graphic. Radial Slims probably balance the truck width to deck width nicely.

I guess this is another "same old" post from me, but I don't stray far from the happy place, for myself or boards I set up for friends.

Antihero 8.5 x 32.25 with 14.38 wheelbase
Indy standard 149s
Spitfire F4 99 duro 54 mm classics
Bones Reds bearings
Generic all black phillips hardware

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Consistently some of the best looking setups.

Bought a christmas complete since I left my setup where I used to live and didn't feel like driving 8 hours up and down to get it. First session was fun, just some flatground/manny pad in a parking garage since it's getting nicer here in the Quebec, but still not exactly great skating weather.

8.5 shop deck
Indy standard 149
Shop wheels 54mm
Modus black bearings
Jessup
Vans skate Lampin

Got the cheapest setup I could get, since I'm going to make the drive to go visit my folks at the end of the month and I have some almost new Spitfires with bones reds on my old setup. Still not sure if I'll keep skating the indys or if I'll go back to my old Ace 44s, but it'll do for now.

Fixed it for you.

Board looks so good with the Radials, especially worn down some like that but I am a wide wheel kinda guy.

Love this graphic. Radial Slims probably balance the truck width to deck width nicely.

Yeah, I feel like Polar graphics are increasingly hit-or-miss these days, but the classics always hit. I've enjoyed the radial slims a lot. The wider riding surface helps on the east coast crust, but it's not a huge chunky wheel. A lot of my best skating was done on 7.75s with 139s (136s?), so that .25" difference feels pretty natural to me.

I know some skate these shapes on the regular, but I needed to replace my beat to shit cruiser. Trackers were rusty and wanted to see what some aces would feel like

Lol. Eldee is definitely a human. He’s like a raider on horse back who’s kinda scared to do battle. Somehow he closes his eyes and swings his sword wildly and wakes up in a pile of dead orcs.

How does the board feel to flip and do ollies etc. ? I usually run 159s on 8.5 but I love ace turn. Just feel like 55s are a little too wide. I'm curious how they feel for you. Also those sours are like 14.1 wb right?

It was marked 14.2", but measures 14.25". Haven't skated them on this board but was running them on the chocolate (also an 8.5" with a 12.25" WB).

Really liked them on the chocolate. My ollies, and particularly switch ollies, have been a lot higher which I credit to the stability during setup. Heelflips (my only flip trick) have not been over rotating which is one of the reasons I wanted to try them.

damn I felt this. Went from a hockey 8.5 to a studio 8.25 (way pointier kicks) on thunder 149s and the wide truck/small board really helps with stability. Its like all the flippability of an 8.25 while still having the stability of a wide truck.

I had a great session on it yesterday. Doesn't feel like an 8.5. The pop and set up as a whole feel so much better on indy's. I rode thunder 149 teams on my last Polar 8.5 and it never felt comfortable... Will be indy or ace moving forward with Polar boards. Hoping the rain holds off today.

dial tone jahmal williams conicals 54mm 99a

i’m not going to skate these shoes that much, i ordered some shell toes because that’s all i’ve been skating for the last year, but they haven’t arrived yet and i couldn’t wait to skate this board, everything’s brand new except the trucks. i got all that stuff (except the trucks, the rail and the shoes) in a package from my sponsor (@skatehead.store on insta, give them a follow if you can), homie has been giving me t-shirts and shit like that for some time but he is opening his shop soon, got some stuff in already and this was the first package with hard goods in it i’ve ever recieved, i still can’t believe that someone was willing to hook me up with all that stuff, i could pick all of it out and shit, i’ve never been more flattered in my whole life :) sorry for the long post, i’m really stoked and wanted to share with the pals ;D

Christmas complete for the first time in a long time, but I've been just buying skate stuff from different shops online when I'm drunk that it made sense to set one up (actually with Kinetic I called them on the phone and had them describe everything in the store to me).

8.5 GX1000 I bought from NJ skateshop (This is mostly because I knew the shape and wheel base because I checked the exact board out before)
Venture 5.8 that I bought from Kinetic (first time skating ventures since highschool)
58 OG Classics shape F4 Spitfires from Seasons
Reds from Kinetic
some bolts from Seasons.

Seasons and NJ are lucky I just used the online store.
