I went back to the Cape recently and had to pick up a Cape set up of a Cape skater at a Cape shop so I could skate on the Cape. I didn't end up skating very much.  ???

Girl 8.25 (G027 Shape, I'm in EU so I assume this is from China)
Indy 139 x Bones Med
F4 Conical Full 99a

This is the first Girl board since a Tim Gavin I sold to a friend for $20 after skating it for 2 days and hating it in probably... 1998. However the board before that was an Eric Koston which was the board I skated the best in my life... for 2 weeks before it was run over by a car in a Dairy Queen parking lot.

The shape is very odd. I've only skated flat on it so far, but I think I like it. I'm coming off 2 Hockey decks before this one and I like the shorter nose and longer tail. What I don't like is the taper, but at least I know 8.25 is the narrowest I want to go (I've been considering an 8 for a while).

Local shop has pretty slim pickins but I feel like this is a good one.

You can go wrong with either. I just skated them back to back and think I prefer the p2.

I was only hesitant since it seems like it tapers pretty heavy towards the tail. WB is 14.5? Might be good with some Ace 44 classics

i believe the wheelbase on the p2 is 14.25. It does taper towards the back down to 8.38 if i recall correctly. I rode mine with Ace 44s and loved it.

I love this shape. Loved the square shape but damn this one feels right for me and my fears about stepping up in WB were totally unfounded. Probably gonna buy another before they’re all gone.

Good to know! A couple places online list it as 14.5 which is a little too long for me. If it’s 14.5 with only a slight taper then that sounds pretty appealing

How does the wood feel?

I haven't skated much because it's been super hot during the day and I've been busy at night, but I like it. It's not as snappy as the snappiest PS Stix decks I've had but it also doesn't feel as heavy/dense as the BBS decks I've had recently, if that makes sense. I assume the longevity will be between the 2 also, but time will tell.

I read a post on here that people were preferring the Chinese Girl decks to the ones coming from PS recently, so that's was convinced me to give it a try. In the end it's just a bunch of wood and glue.

Hope it helps.

Thanks! I think some of their collage graphics are super hit or miss and mostly wanted the shape but in person it somehow works really well. I like the idea of a bunch of smaller graphics that will all wear uniquely if that makes sense.
