Crail G057
Royal 159 ultra lights (ace hards)
53mm v1 x99s/swiss 6
SW grip
Nuts/Bolts

Thus far I've ridden: Venture 5.8 cast hollow, Thunder 149 team/ti, Slappie 8.75 hollow and royal ultralights; 52/53/54mm wheels, and I cannot get this board to not feel pop heavy, manuals are an abomination, I could not find the balance point to save my life with any truck/wheel combination...going too try indys next but that 15" WB and short (ish) tail just isn't working out.

The shape is great, really like the shorter rounded nose; tail could be less of a pin shape tho.

Going to grab a G053 and drop down to 14.3 WB since they're (and dlx/nhs) the only trust worthy dimensions when it comes to 14.3x WB...I've a 8.3 worrest twin (14.4 wb) and it feels fine (just so narrow, more like an 8.25 than I remember).

G053 is one of my all time faves.
maybe it was @Sedition that was calling a certain board a ‘destroyer of worlds’, in that it was inexplicably, to the person riding this said set-up, a great board, despite being the opposite of what was thought to be liked.
wb on the G053 is closer to 14.5 (just shy), and the tail is smaller than you might like. but the shape is round/pill/full.
when i get totally lost after trying too many weird set-ups, G053 with cast thunder 149s and 52s, back on track. great for 360 flips (mine are still ass but landing one is all i have left some days).

crail boards feel similar to how i remember nhs boards feeling, maybe this is a glue/epoxy thing? i very much prefer a ps stix, that feels light/flexy/whippy, to a crail or nhs board that feels heavier/dull/stiff. but. the crail boards are spot on. over and over, the consistency, and the durability is top.
i like boards that have mellower kick angles, but the crail boards last forever so fuck it

Went through the same exact thing when I had this shape a while back.  I tried Venture, Thunder and Royal - ended up sticking with Venture because they felt the best, but the board always felt too heavy.  As you mentioned, manuals were also a chore.  I will say one thing about this deck - it was like magic when it came to backside 180s.  They just floated, and I have never had them feel as good as they did on this deck.

Christmas deck, tactics boards are the truth !
8.375
Thunder 149s
Spitfire f4 52 mm
Bronson g3s
Everything else is shake junt

[close]
I like this. I'm tired of scraping my graphics off just to see the stain. One question: do the tactics blanks have a square nose or standard in your opinion?
[close]

Are these tactics boards pressed in the US? The description went on and on about using sustainable Wisconsin maple.
[close]

Last I checked tactics pressed their boards at bbs. Not sure if that’s still the case with them, but they definitely feel like a good BBs board. Similar sizes and dimensions as your typical bbs decks as well
I did not know people used tactics stickers for anything other than covering the ollie holes in shoes before shoe gooing them.

are you sure it’s 15 inch? the shape guide says 14.5 x 31.95, but then again somebody posted that dgk board that was 14.5 wb and 31.25 length so…

Seems like it’s been wet forever here so only one session in bit longer than my normal choice but liking it so far….

Black Label Elijah 9” shape ( kinda square egg ) 14.38
Ace 55 classic now with visible axle ( go me! )
Slime balls 99a were 56
Etc

I was checking that out as I like eggs but hate how narrow/pointy they are unless you go super wide.

8.3 palace have that big wb with that nasty short lenght. The kicks are so steep to accommodate the short lenght with the big wb.

Honestly only board i could say i hated. Hopefully it works out for you. One thing i will say l, when you pop it right you fly.

Interesting I’ve had two of these and liked them overall except they felt too flat for my liking. What trucks/wheels did you have them setup with? I used thunder 149 ti and 51mm classics and for whatever reason didn’t even notice the freakishly long WB cus of the short length

Crail are def stiff ish, like NHS/Dwindle boards, but not quite; they have that 'higher standard' fit and finish like DSM as well, and the dims are the same each time, board to board from my experience.

That's the problem with skating twins, going back to long wide/shovel noses and short/pointy pin tails sucks for re-adjustment.

I cut my losses and ordered the toy machine twin while I wait I'm skating the worrest but damn so small....guess I'm used to 8.5s now...

Lol same set up. Except the TI version of 149. Mine were standards.

Ithe nose and tail are hella steep. I like mellower tail and noses. But 7.75 palace feels perfectly distributed. Not as steep nose and tail.
I want to try a Jahmal Smith his is 14. wb if im not mistaken 8.25 and its a bit longer than 8.3.

That’s exactly what made me buy this. The heroin eggs look rad under your feet but I definitely prefer a squarer tail / nose shape.

Can't wait to use that, i always rode 8.0 for several years but this size and shape seems to be perfect ..

I've been wanting to set up an 8 or a 7.75 for a while, this isn't helping. Pretty jealous of that, got me tempted bad.

ease into this, i used a petter hewitt and a bank mauler after an injury, thinking the same thing and ended up injuring myself in new ways. i was having way too much fun using new muscles i don't normally use. my back leg calf muscle and front foot wiggled too much i guess and i was sore for days, then kept re-injuring my calf, the front foot felt like i broke it off below the knuckles.

i was riding them for hours though, after like three months of being a pile on the couch, so like i said ease into it.
