Took my new Heroin symmetrical 8.75 egg out for about 3 hours this morning. Despite also having a new pair of NB# 440’s and coming from my normal 8” popsicle setup it was great. I had been riding the 8.5 Real setup that this one replaced on and off for a couple weeks so the trucks where already broken in and that helped. It only took about 10 minutes to get my trucks adjusted to be able to ride it symmetrically and then everything just worked. Flip tricks worked surprisingly well, especially heel flips which surprised me because my 8” setup is also a taper tip and I can’t heel flip it for shit. My only complaint is that I bought this setup originally for a curb session board so it’s heavy and the Indy’s are taller than the Thunders I’m used to.

Heroin 8.75 Symmetrical Rainbow stained Egg
Pepper plain black grip
Santa Cruz black HSR rails
Independent Stage 11 149’s
Spitfire F4 Classics 54mm
Bones Swiss
Shorty’s Silverados
NB# 440v2

Black Label 9.5 Tugboat Shape
Ace Classic 55's
Bones 56mm V6 97
Swiss six
Ace hollow hardware
1/8th risers
Pepper galaxy grip
NB# 1010

I've been going between a Heroin mutant shape and an 8.75 popsicle and wanted something shaped but still functional as middle ground. First sesh in and this thing is pretty fun and feels good on the flat ground and ledge stuff I was doing.

That's fucking cool. For reals.
I've magic carpeted before. 8 inch on 5.0 low ventures. It was great for grinding parallel but not for pinching and it flipped fast as hell.

AWS 8.5 x 32.25 x 14.25 (measures closer to 32.5)
Venture 5.8 Kader hollows
Spit f4 54mm conical full
Bones Swiss
Wasn't planning on this one, but I just set up a 8.5 GX deck that claimed it was 14.25 wb, ended up being 14.5, and the tail was right around 6.5.  Just couldn't make that long wb and short tail work....

Clean setup, that alien 8.5 shape is so good. The long kicks+14.25 wb just work great. That graphic looks awesome too.

Swim 8.5
Indy 149 (hollow w/forged baseplates, indy aftermarket conical bushings, riptide pivot)
SF F4 53mm radial 99a
Swiss 6
Jessup

Very nice. I saw that this is one of the ps stix models. Similar dimensions to quasi proto with the 8.5 and 14.25 wheelbase. Does it feel boxy / more square?

Feels like a combo of the 8.5 Quasi Proto and a Polar 8.5... meaning, it doesnt feel as boxy as the 8.5 Quasi and the tail is less boxy than a Proto.

Heroin Tom Day Symmetrical 8.5 x 14wb
Indy Hollow Cast 149
Boardycakes 48mm 99a
Bones Big Balls
Pepper Grip
Shorty's 1" Phillips

Some of those Heroin decks have sick graphics - love it. Especially that series they did awhile back with like the high contrasting yellow and purple. That was sick. Also, thanks for the unintentional wheel plug. There's only OJ, Bones and Spirtfires available here, so I am looking to try something new. Those 38mm "Magnums" on the Boardy Cakes website look interesting imo.

All these setups with Ace classics makes me miss them. My current trucks are Slappy standards but lately been thinking going back to Ace. I dont really like the Af1s as much as Classics.

I was just skating a Primitive Frankie 9.1” football with Spitfire Kader 59mm’s and was fine. I used the Real wooden risers though. I think I’m going to set up an 8.5 or 8.3 popsicle and just keep skating those same wheels though, I’m debating on trying to drop the risers but I’m scared I need them.

Polar
8.625" X 32.2"
Nose: 7.0"
Wheel Base: 14.375"
Tail: 6.55"

[free] Jessup
7/8 allen bolts

Royal 159 (ultra hollow axle/IKP)
Krux 92a bushings (perfect match)

BONES STF 50mm (ish?) V3 103a
BONE Swiss Six

NIKE PS8 - fit a bit long and there is some weird shit going on with the crease area
Lace Locks (my new OCD, I love them on everything).

--

Super comfy but it doesn't feel big, feels like a fat 8.5. The ease of krooks is out of control with this setup big nose/wide trucks/skinny wheels); crazy pinch...it's almost stupid.

They’re not really, but the way that the Gilly laces are they do lace more narrow since I’m not using the eyelets…

Dude I'm 32 years old. Most likely younger than you. You don't have to get butt hurt over some extremely tight shoes.
