Blind Danny Way reissue
Indy 169 (a touch too wide, kinda wished I measured first but it’s close enough and I’m too lazy to replace the trucks right now)
Spitfire 60mm big beatdowns
Reds
Indy hardware I think? Maybe shortys idk, they fit an allen key
Indy risers
Jessup
Not sure what rails these are
Lowes #6 3/8” phillips head brass wood screws

Trying this board out again with some bright yellow tensor maglights that have been sitting around in my garage for a while and spit big beatdowns 66.6mm. These trucks are 8.25” width and are slightly narrower than the board at the rear, which is helping my setup neurosis a bit. These wheels trip me out, it’s crazy how much less work it takes to skate vert with these in comparison to smaller wheels.

Op, you ok man? Being real here, you doin alright?

Some real lookers in here, PALS.
My heavy-assed landings killed the Big Naturals shape#: 8008135 so it’s on to the next.

Deck was pulled from the COVID locker.
Scram fully dipped Brandon Perelson (8.8 W x 14.5 WB x 32.25 L) w/ a relatively nubby nose
Indy Stage IV 151s w/ 88 duro bushies & grade-8 hardened flat washers on top
Spitty F4 99a 56mm Coni-Fulls
Bones Swiss
Roughneck 1” Phillips
Jessup LS3

I’m going to have to use your words for this one

how you liking the one truck move? i wanna try it out but my im worried about catching the madness again

I see you do both trucks in on 14.25" - I think if it works for you right now you should keep it going. I got the V8's mainly to mimic a 14"WB on decks up to 14.5" to keep pop feel & turning somewhat consistent without needing to worry about deck wb. I'm less picky about nose & tail length so it ends up ok for me

Ex. 14 deck I keep both trucks in typical venture wheelbase, 14.25 I do the tail truck, 14.5 both in

Ok

Hardbody Hjalte 8.38
Venture 5.8 (V-hollow axle, V8 baseplate set to shortest WB, Ace low hard bushings, riptide pivot)
SF F4 53mm radial 99a
Swiss
Shortys 7/8 lites allen

lovely.
how are you liking the v8s, compared to your ‘regular’ indy setup?

The best thing with the double drilled baseplates is it takes almost no effort to move them from one position to the other, compared to redrilling a deck and then having bolt holes and looking messy on top, so way easier to try one position, then try the other and see which one works best.

I do the same on some of my boards, with only the back truck drilled in to give me a little more tail when I need it, but on others I have both trucks in to even out a longer wheelbase, or just make the board feel more consistent.  Having the back drilled in makes it way lighter to pop too, but keeping the nose in the normal position means I have more options for some things, eg I like pop shovs from the nose and other tricks from the tail - a little more variety if you will.

Also have moved just the nose in on a much longer wb board that already had a good tail, which evened the whole board out a little more for what I wanted, so I think all up, the double drilled baseplates really make things so much more versatile without having to do a whole lot of anything else - just undo the bolts, move the truck, do them back up, see how it goes, then change it again if it doesn't feel so good.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Here are two of my more recent setups (sorry for the 45% angle for those used to vertical board pics too):

1. My usual DLX / AH 8.38 with drilled in back truck

AH 8.38 with 14.5 wb (now 14.25) IV stamp
Indy 149s, drilled in back truck
Spitfire 54 mm Conical Full rounded down and now 52 mm
Bones bearings
Jessup grip

2. Trying the DLX 9.0 China wood with both trucks drilled in

AH 9.0 with 15 wb (now 14.5)
Indy 169s, drilled in both trucks
Spitfire 58 mm Conical Full rounded down and now 50 mm
Bones bearngs
Jessup grip

* Still a work in progress as the wheelbase was way too long for the mold and just didn't work, so I had to use both drilled in for the board to feel anywhere near normal.  The kicks are a little longer now, but it actually feels quite good and works well enough with the usual dimensions with both drilled in, at least works way more than the BBS mold would have for the same board, which I usually have as normal 9 x 33 with 15 wb option for the other same sized boards, so overall it is a bit weird but I actually like having the two options of these boards now.

Nice and simple setup going into the spring time weather. My last CCs blank did not hold up well, so back to tactics blanks it is. Not sure what wood they’re using now a days but it feels a lot better than most blanks, and with free shipping you can’t go wrong.

Tactics 8.25 x 31.875 14.25 inch wb
Thunder 149 with black after market bushings
Spitfire f4 52mm (definitely not 52 anymore)
Jessup grip.

I cracked my last deck on a fakie tre on flat of all things, so it's finally time to try out the fabled Black Label 8.75.

Label Akerley 8.75/32.2/14.5
V8 baseplates w/ hollow 5.8 hangers, back truck brought in
55mm F4 lock-in fulls (sorry @Sedition, I thought about putting 53mm classic fulls on to show some respect but I gotta do me  ;) )
Quantum Isotopes
Pepper
Thunder 1" allen hardware
Lynx OGs

This thing looks and feels super, super fun. Can't wait to give it a try.

Messed around with some 7.875 blanks coming back to skating after a LONG hiatus. Decided to finally accept the inevitable and go into the 8”+ deck world. The shorter wheelbase of the TFM feels amazing after an initial cruise.

how are you liking the v8s, compared to your ‘regular’ indy setup?

im actually loving the V8 in the shortest WB position, that with the Ace low hard bushing really make the Ventures turn well.  i was weak for a moment and put the Indys back on, and they felt stiffer/less responsive.  i dunno if im just halucinating, or if I am now AWAKE

Had one session on it, flat ground.

I usually break boards on the tail. I landed on the tail many times and it didn't break. But the board is really springy. Kind of how a nice ps stix feels the first day, they have nice pop and control.
The tail pops superquick. The kicks feel very light when popped. I like it. And
I think only time will tell if i buy another one. If it lives to see razor tail, I'll buy another one.

The heated wheel egg was too big. It was fun to skate but felt like it took too much effort to get off the ground.  So I switched decks. Had this FA one on ice since there crazy moving sale.

8.5 FA.
Spit 54 Conicals with the mbrimson treatment.
Love it they feel like v5s will probably continue to do this.
Ace hollow 55s.
Mixture of hardware
Olympia bearings. Popped shields.
Made use of the FA sticker. Fuck Elon
