I would say so. Wood feels harder if that makes any sense.

I finally got some tensor maglites and ride them with a kevin Braun vx 8.25 and 53mm conical fulls.  Ima try to stick with these trucks because the superior grind.  The light weight helps too.

Also trying bones stf v3 52mm.  Fun wheels for 29 bucks but not quite f4s.  Super light tho.

Love that size and shape with baker boards. I end up snapping them quicker than other boards but you can’t beat the b16 shape

Happy 33rd anniversary of Questionable coming out. Pulled out this one I haven’t used in a while and I’m feeling it today.

Tactics shaped shop board I drilled the front truck back I think a half inch
Ventures, they had the Koston infinity logo on them but I sanded them off. I’m using the double drilled baseplate on a different setup, this is a Venture Lo baseplate. I got a laser engraver recently and decided to engrave that Charlie Manson quote from that Death Grips song on one.

I would say so. Wood feels harder if that makes any sense.

It's the epoxy instead of woodglue. Definitely stiffer. Not sure if it makes them brittle or not though I'm not a board breaker and don't know shita about tensile strength or whatever concept this would be. But as a big heavy dude they don't sog out as fast as PS. Just wondering if they'd snap where a more pilable board might bend like a noodle.

I weigh 235 pounds, only broken 2 7.75 DSM boards. I usually retire them cause i get tired of looking at the same graphic or cause i razor tail them.
I break boards at the nose and tail. I broken every psstix board I've owned and most of my bbs boards as well.

@scab I want a report back! What did/do you think of that deck?
[close]

I only got out once this past week and all I have to report on is one short session at my scooter-infested local... But thus far it's all I've hoped for, and more. I don't know if it's the extra bit of width, the longer nose, or the fact that it's a Label deck and I better live up to that legacy—all I know is that I was absurdly confident on transition right from the get-go. I've had this irrational fear of FS slashes on "bigger" transition (that means 5"± & for me, I'm just starting to get the hang of it), but I somehow did one the first time I took a turn at the big quarter without even thinking about it. Then I did a whole bunch of them and they felt goooood.

tl;dr: The Label 8.75 is tue truth.

Also re: classic fulls, I randomly found at set of old stock at a discount and got them just to see what the fuss was about. And as I've said before, although I'll defend the functionality of big wheels to the death I fully admit that nothing will ever top the timeless look of a 51-53mm classic shape. So in my heart of hearts I was hoping I could make them work for me. Alas, it's simply not to be. I can only skate them on flawless ground, of which there is pretty much none here in North-West Europe. I'd send the set over to you as a sign of gratitude for putting me on to the Label deck, but as I've recently learned in the idiosyncracies thread you only skate white wheels, and they're black... Sucks to be us both I guess  ;).
[close]

I laughed and smiled at this post. 10/10. Would read again. :)

Glad you like the deck so far! Black wheels! MUST FLEE!!!

@scab I want another follow-up on how you’re liking / dislike this deck.

@scab I want another follow-up on how you’re liking / dislike this deck.

@Sedition  I'm still very much in love with it. So much so that when I took a bad slam bombing a little hill on Saturday – because I'm a dumbass and thought I could make it over a patch of gravel on my cute little 54mm wheels – my first thought was "that was such a Black Label thing to do!"

Mildly graphic proof of my stupidity:

Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

If I had to complain about something, I'd point out that the deck is actually more of a 8.62 than a 8.75, at least when I'm measuring it But I honestly don't care what the numbers say because it just feels perfect. I've also realized that I actually like a longer, bigger nose. Which is a little madness-inducing because I'm usually on symmetrical boards... And speaking of that, after several years on twins I do find it annoying that I can't just do any and all tricks in a line without having to think about whether or not the board is facing the right direction. That's a very small price to pay for how much fun it's been overall though. I really hope it'll last me another solid couple of weeks, maybe even a month.

how do you like the dbx? in comparison
I’ve had it for a few weeks so can’t speak to the longevity of the pop or anything but it’s for sure lighter and stiffer. Mine was pretty flat and if they are all single press which I assume they are that’s a positive for me. It’s taken a few flat ground tricks to the nose and while it hasn’t chipped it seems like the harder material is going to make it more prone to that sorta stuff instead of just denting. FWIW at this point I would have no issue going to a regular BBS Iv press and be totally happy. Time will tell I guess
