polar 8.125 short
venture v-cast 5.6 94a supercush
spitfire f4 54mm classic
jessup
swiss
bronze allen

Possible a very dumb Q - but what are the advantages of the short polar boards? I'm trying new sizes atm and I'm intrigued.
skating is all about choosing your outfit very deliberately, going out in public. looking super sick. and then riding your board a little bit

just made the board a lil easier to move all around i'd say.

i skated only workshop and habitat from 2014-2018. back then they all were a bit below 32 in lenght (like 31.73 or 31.79- mind that i ride 8.125 boards). they also had the 14" WB.
i now skate the regular polar 8.125 mostly and while i do really like it and it's the one shape that is always easy to get i long for a shorter board and shorter wheelbase.....

Just set up this Senn 91 Powell reissue.
Had to redrill the hole pattern to fit the thunders but it worked out and I got to lengthen the WB a little.
Paired with the gonz slips, should be a fun summer set up.
[close]

That's a sick setup! How's the wood on these Powell reissues? I've heard they do the "McWarp" if left to the conditions but nothing about the ride.
[close]
Seems pretty good, gonna give it a rip soon and report back.
Reporting back. Wood is proper, shape is really fun!

compared to the regular 8.125 polar, so far the short:
pros: spins faster, less effort to pop
cons: i’m not popping as high

I haven’t been to the pit in forever but can confirm good spot and good crew.

The Cadillacs are pretty decent, the shape is almost kind of narrow for a softer wheel like that. But I bet they would do the job for filming just fine.

Had a custom shape made for the shop and got the sample yesterday. It’s a culmination of three different 90s street shapes.
Set it up with some Lurpivs and some Spit Reynolds to give it a test.
Dims- 9 at the widest.
32 long
Wb-14.25 adjustable to 14.75.
Nose 7
Tail 6.5
8.75 over front truck
8.5 over back

yeah they are super aesthetically pleasing looking down at them seeing them on 1st gen ace hangers. I'll be sad when I hit axle and the wheels are nubs. they're prolly 52mm-53mm now, so not that bad.

Set this up the other day. Forgot how much i love flatter decks.
Politic 8.25 with a pink top, black magic grip. Did not measure the wb. Maybe 14.25.
Venture 5.2 low w/ v8 baseplates set to normal wb.
Spitfire 52 93a with bone swiss 6.
Hot take. 52mm dragons 92a with bones race reds skate better than 93s, slide more predictably and are faster. I prefer the the spit classic shape though.

Been skating Air force 1 mids.
