Those "B2" shapes are supposed to have "steep" kicks, whereas the "OG" shapes are supposed to be "mellow." How do you find them?

I had 5 of them last year that I got on a Tactics sale. The 8.38 has a 14.38 wheelbase and the kicks aren't steep. I've skated lots of BBS decks from various companies and I remember thinking the decks I got were defects or warped because the kicks themselves weren't any steeper than any of the Theories 8.38/8.5 decks I had. I measured the angle and it was identical.

I will say that the concave is steeper that's for sure and I didn't like that about them too much. They're a tad more square than the other BBS decks but not PS square. Personally I'd rather skate the normal Baker 8.38 with the longer wheelbase it felt less bulky and for whatever reason I always hated tailslides on them.

Yeah I don’t find them to be real steep. The kicks on the 8.5 jacuzzi Dilo I just retired were steeper.

Did they change the WB on 8.38? Baker site has them listed as 14.5.

They're wrong and I don't know why they have never fixed the size chart. Tactics listed them at 14.38 and all of mine were. The Baker nose and tail measurements are also not correct.

Noted, thanks. That said, tactics is frequently wrong on their specs listings!

Put some 54mm wheels back on, after trying 60s, 58s, 56s... I used to have 58s in Montana, recently tried 58s and 60s again, then down to 56s... And it was still just too much after mostly skating 52-53 for ~20 years. Gotta have round edge too for sure, prefer Classics. I thought I could be cool and have a bulldozer ass vert/street setup but I don't think I'll go over 54mm again.

BBS 8.5 short (14.25 wb)
Pepper g5
Modus 7/8 Allen
Indy 149 hollow standard
Bones Swiss 6
Spitfire 54mm radial 93d

Nice I didn’t know they had short shapes. The G825S on skate samples looks nice.. too bad they’re out of stock lol

Yeah I wish that 8.25 short was more common, as a shorter dude it sounds p ideal

If I can't get the 8.5 short there's always Real, Antihero and Baker, so I decided to get a bunch of blanks and just commit to a common size I can get/stay used to

Antihero 8.38 x 14.5
Ace af1 55
Spitfire 56mm radial fulls
Bronson G3, mob, thunder allen

Loving the nod to Strat on the actual graphic. Also, potentially my last new setup before I get married, pretty wild feeling.

How’s she flip? I ran DLX 8.25s on Ace 44s for a sec but might want to try the Ace 55 AF1 IKPs next

It has super mellow kicks and concave for a standard DLX board, so flip tricks feel great. The only thing I have notice is that I can't get 360 tricks all the way around, but that might just be getting used to a bit longer of a shape (32.25"). Also, I feel like this is common knowledge at this point, but the DLX 8.38x14.5 is actually an 8.5. Still find this super weird since the normal 8.5 x 14.25 that deluxe offers is an 8.375  :o

And I want to give the IKP a rip too, been pestering my shop to order some more for a couple weeks now.

pretty bummed to find out the deal with this brand after the fact of buying this deck.

first Christmas complete in 10+years

8x31.63 14”WB
Indy Ti 139
Bones X formula 53mm 95a V5 shape
Bronson G3 bearings
slappy 7/8” Allen bolts
mob grip

This has me cracking up, what exactly does Black Flag have to do with measuring your dick starting behind ya nuts?

Skateboarding is nothing but a game to find the right fits to appear like you're a proportional human being instead of a midget or a giant.

Just rolled around on it in the bowl nearby, its going to take a little getting used to for sure. Overall I think it'll be fun, its got a mellow concave so it'll be good on transition and curbs. Felt pretty dialed in pumping some corners on this wheelbase compared to the 14.25-14.5  I'm used to
